A Rob for A Jones?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

A Rob for A Jones?

Postby Payton34 » Tue Oct 02, 2018 9:30 am

Was offered Robinson for Jones... Am I overthinking this? Snap accept?
When I examine it, it looks like Jones' role is increasing, while ARob might be caught in an Offense with a lot of mouths to feed.

1/2 point PPR BTW.

Now, I am pretty deep at RB. Have Zeke, Bell, Mixon, Cook and Connor. Deep, but banged up...

At WR, I don't see playing ARob over M Thomas. Nuk or Thielen at this point.

So anyway, my thought is more about flipping ARob and his name recognition maybe?

Thoughts?

Robinson by a lot.

We've seen this a thousand times before with these GB running backs that flash. Everyone gets all excited about having rodgers RB for the next 5 years but 10 out of 10 times selling was the right option, especially if you can get back value like this.

When you receive an offer like this, you Google the name of the player you're receiving to make sure they haven't retired or been indicted for murder and then hit accept if the answer is no. Even a rest of season suspension or ACL tear wouldn't make ARob worth less than Jones. Don't overthink it.

Take it before he asks for a 2nd also cause that's the difference in my opinion if not 1st

Way more than a 2nd. I wouldn't accept Jones + late first for ARob.

robinson is CURRENTLY worth more than jones, i would accept but i also would be fully aware it could flip in a matter of weeks. i am not enjoying arob on the bears, its the exact same as it was on the jags. would love for him to get 10+ targets a game like hopkins ab thomas etc. and have a safe floor but you never know what you are gonna get imo. he has one game with more than 4 catches and 1 game over 7 looks, the usage sucks i hate it. i also think jones is a special talent and could see his value increase drastically with a game or two of a more "workhorse" role

Yeah, you touched on all my concerns basically. I went ahead and accepted because I figure ARob's talent is marketable enough to recoup any loss if it turns out that way...
