CMC for Guice+

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

CMC for Guice+

Postby ZPalmtree » Fri Sep 21, 2018 3:10 pm

12 Team PPR Superflex
22 man rosters that cut down to 15 keepers in the offseason. 7 round rookie / FA draft
Start 9
QB 2RB 2WR TE 2Flex SF

QB Stafford Winston
RB CMC Coleman Breida Ty Montgomery Ito Smith Jaylen Samuels Mark Walton
WR Evans KA Landry Agholor Lockett Moncrief Alison Wilson Boyd
TE Hooper Goedert Ian Thomas RSJ

I currently own 5 2019 1sts and 2 2019 2nds giving me my 7 roster spots I need to restock during the draft.

I am 1-1
3rd in most points

I got an offer that would be
Give - CMC
Rec - Guice Perine 2019 1st

I honestly do not think I will be able to win the ship, as there are 3 teams that are power houses. I would have to say on paper I could make the playoffs. But with my team being so young, should I take the extra 1st and Guice, sort of taking my team out of the race this season? To restock and have an extra sparkly and shiny squad next season?

I would pass. You already own 5 1st round picks. 2020 would suck when you have to cut down to 15 players.

I'd hold CMC, especially in PPR. Plus you have so many 1sts already.

Guice and a 1st isn't a bad return for CMC, especially if you don't plan on competing this year.

I just think I have a ceiling, and would need to move the picks to contend, I’d rather take this deal, tank my 1st and 2nd rounders, and have 8 picks in the first 18 picks of the draft. Then come next season have a lot more capital to acquire needs.
I know it sounds lame for planning ahead and packing it in, but I have a couple of guys who know what their doing in this league and I just don’t think I would beat them without a lot of unfortunate luck, IE injuries to some really good young players

Why don't you try moving some of those firsts now for players who can help you compete? Def shouldn't be collecting ever more first rd picks, that will just muddy up your offseason.

Well I left his offer on the table, and sent one of my own.

I like McCaffrey too much to deal him for a return where the centerpiece is an injured back.

Not a fan of moving the established back for a RB who has yet to play a meaningful snap in the NFL

I personally would have had to pass. In a ppr league McCaffrey is beast, and hasn't even come close to the synergy that would maximize his potential. Guice is a dynamic runner but needs improvement in pass protection and pass catching/route running. As said by someone else, you gave up an established talent that is basically a rookie by age (seems you are leaning towards a young team) but has produced in the league for a first round pick and guice (loss) and gave up the leading rusher for a very enticing prospect ( meh could be even on this part) overall I wouldn't have been thrilled to pull the trigger, because eventually you'll wish you had kept some proven talent for unproven. Either way though brother you have a lot of trade value on your team. Do yourself a favor and put the best two (in standing) owners' 1sts on the block and see who bites..

I didn't like the initial deal but this is a win for you in my book, nice work.

Wasn't a huge game of the first offer but like the one that you did in the end. Sutton could be really good as early as next year and I believe Guice will be better than McCaffrey long term. So good trade for you.

This week, at this very momet, I am down 173.9 to 79.9
I started
Stafford - yet to play
Coleman - 15.7
Smith - 6.9
Lockett - 18.4 (47 seconds left)
Landry - 20.4
Agholor - 6.4
Evans - yet to play
Allen - 4.9
Hooper - 7.3

If I didn’t make that trade CMC scores 27 points this week in this league, Breida scores 16.7

I know not everyone will agree but I like the trade that I made

i get it, at the end of last season, i traded Russell Wilson for a 2019 1st in a 12 team 1QB league i got roasted (i had Mahomes and Alex Smith also)...but i was happy with the trade because it is extremely difficult to trade QBs in that league (so i thought getting a 1st was a good deal)

i don't hate the trade....i like CMC, but sometimes you just need some more depth...and you can always use those picks to put you over the top later in the season if you need a push....

good luck
