Just lost Walker, now what?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Just lost Walker, now what?

Postby hudini33 » Mon Sep 10, 2018 8:49 am

So I'm going to start out 1-0 for both teams in sig. But Delanie Walker is likely out for the season. What do I do? The only relevant TEs on the waivers are Ben Watson, Ian Thomas and Jonnu Smith. I was thinking Thomas with Olsen out, but would like a steady producer, which is probably Watson. What do you guys think? Go for the upside or the safe play?

I'm in the same boat. I'm tempted to take Smith in Dynasty, just for that upside. For your roster specifically I would be tempted with Watson, just get that steady production. But because ASJ seems to be unhelpful at this point in the end I'd take the chance on Smith for the upside and long term TE chance.

The real question for me, is Jonnu Smith worth the #1 waiver spot???

If Walker get's put on IR before waivers, you could try and get both Smith and Watson. But if you're going to use waiver position you go Smith here. He will be able to produce steady numbers and be viable for the long term.

I'd have to drop one to pick up both. Who would that be?

I'm also in talks with the Njoku owner, as he's panicking a little bit and think Kittle is his future

well, you are lucky you the ww isn't dry...
all three are decent choices
1. Thomas....Olsen may just wrap up his career after this season (he was talking about it before they made an offer he couldn't refuse)
2. Jonnu...he was already showing some promise last season, and seems to be a Walker clone (big shoes to fill)
3. Watson...probably steady producer, but clearly no higher than #3 (MT and Kamara) on his team..not bad though

in the end, i think i like Jonnu the most, then Watson, then Thomas....but consider yourself lucky to have these options

edit: nope, i would rather have the other 3 over jesse james

At least you have some options. I only have Nick Boyle and Will Dissly on the wire, in the league where I have Delanie.

2023: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

2. 12 team 1pt PPR. Start 1 QB, 2-4 RB, 3-5 WR, 1-3 TE. Yr 6.
QB: Jackson, Allen
RB: Akers, CEH
WR: Chase, M Brown, Pittman, M Williams
TE: Tonyan, Hooper
2023: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

3. 12 team superflex, PPR (WR/RB/TE 1/1.25/1.5). Start 1-2 QB, 1-7 RB, WR, TE. Yr 5.

Corey Coleman is another easy drop if you wanted to snag both.

I’m in the same boat. Except I already have Smith. But my problem is I am already using my IR spot for Guice and using valuable roster spots on Hunter Henry and now Walker. Should I cut Walker?

I havent updated my sig since Sunday. I cut him for Austin Carr when he was named the starting slot WR. He'll be cut too.

I'd probably hang onto him for now given that he just signed with the Pats.
