Alex Collins OR Crowell Trade??

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Alex Collins OR Crowell Trade??

Postby SirJoseppi » Fri Sep 07, 2018 8:56 am

Got hit hard by injuries at RB this offseason (Guice mainly, plus Michel and Mack being nicked up. Also traded away Ajayi for an early 2nd round pick). Currently Drake is my only healthy/active RB. Full IDP league, 1 qb, 0.5 ppr.

Am looking to trade for either Alex Collins or Isaiah Crowell. Following offers have been agreed to verbally, just have to pull the trigger on one:

-Collins for 2 of my 2019 2nd rounders (early-mid likely) + Josh Jones. I own 4 x 2nd rounders currently.

-Crowell + 2019 4th rounder for 1 of my 2019 2nd rounders (early-mid).

Obv Collins is a steeper asking price than Crowell, but much higher upside. Really just looking for another RB to hold me over until Mack gets fit enough to play, and possibly Michel getting healthy enough to play plus playing time by mid season.

Thoughts on these deals? Giving up too much for either?

Much appreciated!

I'd take the Crowell trade pretty easily. You said yourself you are just looking for something to hold you over, so go with the cheaper option and cross your fingers for your other guys to get well soon.

Thanks man. Yeah, all of the 2nd rounders I own are early/mid. I don't expect any to be in the back half of the round. So giving up 2 for Collins I'd rather avoid. I'm just a bit concerned on Crowell - that O line sucks, plus the chance he'd be splitting time with Powell.

It doesn't look like your team is going to be very competitive this year, even if you add one of those backs. I'd probably just keep the picks for now.

I agree with Goddard. Your team is another year or 2 away from competing so as much as i love Collins, I think the early/mid 2nds are better for your. Let young guys get some experience and come back from re-injury, trade some vets like your QB's and Thielen/Fitz/Crabtree for younger talent or picks and plan for 2019/2020.

I think the value is there on both offers, but agree with others above that you need more to compete.
