R Woods for P Barber Straight Up

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

R Woods for P Barber Straight Up

Postby MoneyPumpkins » Tue Sep 04, 2018 3:49 pm

I was just offered a trade that appears to good to resist, i receive Robert Woods and i give up Payton Barber.

In a vacuum and on a pure value basis, is there any reason I should not pull the trigger.

He also has DJ Moore but I don't want to be insulting.

Or, I could ask for a 2020 2nd rounder.

Thoughts?

I would rather have DJ Moore then Woods. I'm not the biggest Robert Woods fan

There's no way you're getting Moore for Barber. Woods and Barber are probably fair in value.

If I added my 2019 2nd rounder would that be more equal value to DJ Moore?

I doubt that's enough, but worth trying if he's interested in Barber.

I'd be thrilled to have Woods, he's only 26 and will be a contributor for years, barber is just a place holder, he'll have little to no value after this season

I'm not high on either but Woods will hold his value much longer than Barber.

Many in our DLF community are low on Woods. Admittedly, Woods doesn't and won't have a high wr1 ceiling ever on the Rams offense. He is what he is though - a nice depth wr3 or wr4. Woods and Goff showed nice chemistry last year. Championship rosters really need guys like Woods to help with any type of push down the stretch. Injuries will happen. They are unpredictable and inevitable. Anyway, He is at the moment pretty close in value to Barber, but, like mentioned above, Woods will hold his value longer. If you are not a contender this year, you absolutely do this trade. Barber looks to be the main piece in TB's running game for the short term and some teams my need that type of rb depth. Oh, and Like you mentioned, you don't want to be insulting. DJ Moore was a mid to early first this year, better just leave that alone. Depending on roster depth and needs Barber is close to = to R.Woods imo.

Awesome response, thank you!!!

So I offered Payton Barber and Emmanuel Sanders for DJ Moore and the trade was accepted.

I figured ES was worth no more than a late 2019 1st and Barber as a one year band-aid.

thoughts?

I think getting Woods is a good deal. I have a couple shares of Barber and for me to sell, I'd need a late 1st at worst. Not interested in Woods myself, but he fits that value.

I'd take Woods over Barber quickly before Woods gets 5/60/1 vs OAK.
