Is this close?

Postby keebs3 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 9:36 pm

In a SF startup and some guys didn't jump on QB's and now looking for trade.

Which side in a SF?

Goff
or
Lamar Miller, 2019 1st, my choice of Eli or Tannehill

My team so far:

Rodgers/Dak/Goff
Evans/Gordon/Arob
Chubb/Tevin Coleman

This still doesn't feel close enough for someone like Goff in a SF. How far off is this?

Tannehill is not going to be a starter for long. That team is going to have an overhaul soon. I'd keep Goff, he's a good QB (maybe not elite) but has a good offensive team around him including coaching staff, and Miami is an absolute Dumster fire. Tanny is just not good, and unless they want to be the Bengals, they'll move on sooner rather than later. His QB choice is garbage. We've had what, 6 years of Tannehill, and the reports coming out of camp is he's still garbage. NO, don't trade Goff for Tanny plus. Tanny will be a back up in a few years, and you lose the best part of this deal.

I actually expect Tannehill to be a starter for the long term. Fantasy isn't about being a great NFL QB, but one that gets the job done. He takes a lot of crap, but prior to his injured 2017 he put them into the playoffs the prior season with a 10-6 record. He's going to have a long enough leash to show that wasn't an anomaly. It's not as though Goff is a great talent. His ppg put him barely into the top 10 and only marginally better than QBs around 20. It just comes down to whether or not you think Tannehill is a longer term starter. If so, Miller and a first more than makes up any perceived gap.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

It's not an exciting offer, but I think it's fair. Like skip, I think Tannehill is underappreciated. I see him as a lock for QB2 production with maybe occasional low-end QB1 upside. I wouldn't want to have to start him every day, but as my third QB in a superflex to cover byes and injuries? That's pretty good value.

I think Miller could be pretty solid for a starter, and obviously a 1st is nice. Maybe try shopping Goff first if the offer will hold? Otherwise go by team need.

I wouldn't sell Goff for that, but if you're feeling it, Tannehill >>> Manning.

I guess I'll be in the minority, but I'd rather have Goff. It's definitely a fair offer, but I disagree that Tannehill will be the long-term answer in Miami. It's possible, but I wouldn't want to bet on it.

I actually quite like the trade in terms of competing this year. It gives you a starting QB, another RB2, and a 1st round pick next year. Long term though I’m not convinced by Tannehill so the long term value is with Goff.

Goff side for me. There's nothing on the other side that would even tempt me. What's the reason for moving Goff here?

you can get more for goff, like a stud player and a 1st even. QB is king even if the rest of the league doesnt know it yet. tannehill gets me literally no bites in a SF nobody likes him thats just how it is.

if your starting lineup is weak and the first projects earlish (although its a startup so hard to tell) then its a decent win now move but i think might hurt long term if only the 1st and goff remain viable fantasy pieces, and even then the 1st might not pan out
