Opportunity to buy Barkley

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which is better for my team Sig 2

Opportunity to buy Barkley

Postby Chrisbnz1 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 12:11 pm

For team 2 in my signature, I have already managed to trade for Gurley this offseason, but I have just received a pretty good offer.

Give Evans and Chubb for Barkley

does it make sense to make the trade?

I think it makes sense for your starting lineup, assuming Watkins or Cooper can find or return to good form.

I would rather start:
RB Gurley, Zeke
WR Hopkins, Watkins/Cooper
Flex Barkley

Than:
RB Gurley, Zeke
WR Hopkins, Evans
Flex Watkins/Cooper

But I'm kind of an Evans hater

I'm taking Barkley here and it's an easy easy accept. How high on Chubb can people possibly be? Guy looks like Carlos Hyde 2.0, which is fine but doesn't remotely warrant the value I am seeing placed on him.

I was high on Hyde coming out, but I feel Chubb is a better prospect than Hyde was. No mention of Evans? 4 straight 1000 yard seasons, including a monster year. To say it's an easy, easy accept is overvaluing Barkley, IMO. He is as unproven as Chubb is. He is a great prospect, and has a great chance to succeed, but Evans is the only proven guy here, and is a first round start up pick that has played in the NFL, while Barkley is a first round start up pick that hasn't. I'd be on the fence with this, as I don't have Barkley anywhere, but would like to have him. I just find the price is too high right now.

Thanks for the feedback.

Its a close call, I like Evans a lot, and think the value is on that side, but for my team having Barkley in the flex could be a big difference maker.

Considering Evans more or less is equal to Barkley I'd take him with an early-mid first round player

As an Evans owner give me Barkley. Yes, I know the hype is real but that's just what I would do!

I get this, but.... I’ll take the rb with 160+ ppr point potential (I’m just talking receiving points... 80 receptions and 800 yrds) over that package.
12 team - Sflex PPR - TEP - Champion 2021-2022
Q(1-2)-Jackson, Dak, Lance, Love, Huntley
RB(2-4)-JT, Mixon, JK, Barkley
WR(3-5)-Chase, Hill, Diggs, Cooks, Hollywood, Aiyuk, Jeudy, T. Johnson, J. Washington, Reagor
TE(1-3)-Waller, Moreau, Tonyan
DL(3-4)- Burns, Davenport, Gregory
LB(3-4)-Kendricks, Okereke, JOK, Shaq, Bolton, Jamin, Gay
DB(3-4)-Dugger, Ryan, Amos, Deablo
2022 picks - none
2023 picks all of my own

I voted for Barkley purely banking on upside but this is very fair
22-man, 12-team, 1 pt-PPR; Start 1-2RB; 3-4 WR; 1-2 TE

TEAM 1
QB: Prescott, Foles
RB: Barkley, P Barber, Duke, Gio Bernard, Gus, C Thompson, Breida, Ekeler
WR: A Cooper, Cooks, Lockett, C. Davis, Crowder, Chark, Stills
TE: OJ Howard
