Penny or 2019 1st

Postby Dunville » Fri Aug 17, 2018 10:20 am

For team in Sig 1,

I don’t need RB help but I’ve had Penny offered to me for a 2019 1st.

The 2019 1st figures to be middle but may go either way because the team isn’t great but the owner is very active and loves trading (Great guy to be in a league with fwiw 😂)

I’m hurting at WR and 2019 would be a time to potentially re stock.

Just getting people’s thoughts
Thanks

Not even close, it's Penny (unless your pick next yr ends up being 1.1). Penny is in the 1.2-1.4 range this draft. Rolling out Zeke, Kamara, Michel and Penny will be deadly for years to come.

Penny is a top 5 pick this year, people are way over reacting to the finger injury and Carson. This is easily the Penny side in my opinion, he's at least as good as any of the RBs in next years class as of right now. This will give you a lot of RB options to give you some insurance for any injuries or if the young guys don't pan out, or give you a trade chip to go after a WR with.

Penny was a early first this year a few weeks ago, even if he gets stuck behind Carson or in a timeshare for some or all of this year your not getting points from the first anyways

I think the people here are missing the point. You are already stacked at RB, I just don't see the point in making this trade. Unless you know you can flip Penny for a WR, I'd be holding the pick if I were you, or better yet trading it for a WR. The point of this game is to win. Accruing value is part of it but not all of it.

Appreciate the feedback, I ended up taking the trade. I agree with poster who said about winning and not just accruing value however this trade may end up allowing me to trade Zeke/Kamara (probably next year) for a stud WR which is is very hard in this league

Your point is kind of redundant, how is a 2019 pick going to help win more than someone whos currently in the nfl ? Hes getting value and immediate production. Not to mention his value skyrockets once he starts ( wwhich he will eventually based on draft capital invested)

Its an easy accept for me, a 1st round rb isnt something to scoff at...you wont get a 1st round rb mid 1st in pretty much any other rookie draft.

Good trade, easy flip for a 2nd tier wr once he starts.

I am torn, there is a ton of hype around penny right now. he looked okay in preseason but carson outplayed him. He has not proven it to me yet and cannot beat carson before the injury has me worried he will live up to the hype. he is good, but better than most? I think he is Rb that lands around the top 8-12
