Chris Carson - instant accept offer?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

That's a pretty good take for Carson. His upside is certainly higher than a random 2nd, but that requires him to dominate with his chance to start the season. Anything less and he'll almost certainly be worth significantly less very soon. Seems like it depends on your appetite for risk to me. Hold Carson if you want to swing for the fences, or cash out for a 2nd if you want the safe value.

I'd accept it. That sort of cash out on Carson should be accepted simply because Carson hasn't been durable since high-school. His injury history is extensive. As soon as he suffers another one, Carson's current dynasty value could instantly evaporate forever, as Penny, deservedly or not, would inevitably take over the starting job and probably never give it up to Carson again.

Yes. Take the pick. Carson is a stop gap for a few weeks at the most where he won’t even be the sole back. Remember when Thomas Rawls was the future?

I'd take the 2nd. Seahawks Oline let what, 3 or 4 RBs get injured last year? Penny on the rise.

I don't think it's an instant accept. I'd probably lean to the pick side, but let's remember that Carson was playing well before he had a freak injury last year. I don't think Penny takes full control this year, and I think Carson takes the short yardage/goal line work to try and keep Penny fresh and healthy for his big play ability. I can see them doing the same thing as NO with Ingram and Kamara (also not 100% sure how Kamara will play without Ingram there to take the ball up the middle). It is a nice return for Carson though, maybe ask for a third or fourth on top considering the Penny injury?

This statement is terrible. Why would Penny be on the rise because they had/have a bad OLine? He's already hurt.

I wonder if the people who are saying Carson is worth a 2nd are the same people rushing to add Christine Michael off the waiver wire lol

I'm also wondering if the ones saying he's worth more than a 2nd actually believe anyone would pay a 1st for him. Or if they themselves would pay a 1st for him.

Buying and selling are two different animals, especially when you take into account your team considerations. I think after the summer of non-stop praise from beat-writers and coaches, as well as the reality that Carson will have first dibs on the job through Penny's injury, anybody snap-accepting a random future second for Carson is misplaying the situation. Look at the hit rates of mid-second round picks. A guy who has won a starting job in back-back seasons, including one over a first round pick, is pretty close to what your goal is with a second round pick.

If you actually believe that he'll keep the starting job for more than a few weeks, than fine. But I think most smart owners know that probably won't be the case and are willing to sell high now before his value drops.

I was just saying it's not an instant accept. The second is the valuable piece, but comparing Carson to the Hype Train Christine Michael is a huge knock on Carson.

Do I think Penny is the better back to own? Yes. Will Carson have a role? Yes. But in those first few weeks when Penny isn't playing, Carson can get more perceived value (I would not pay more than a 2nd). But I wouldn't write off Carson or anything Crazy Pete will do.

Gimme the pick unless I own Penny. Just traded Carson away in a league for a 2nd so my money is where my mouth is.
