SF Rebuild Rookie Draft Strategy

Postby Chwf3rd » Tue Aug 14, 2018 2:49 pm

12 team, PPR, SF, that starts: QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/Flex/Flex/TE/SF

Just took over an orphan and blew up the entire roster over the last 4 hours before the rookie draft.

My team + picks now:
QB: Sam Bradford, Brett Hundley
RB: Tarik Cohen, Theo Riddick, LeGarroute Blount, Gio Bernard, Corey Clement
WR: Corey Davis, Mike Williams, John Ross, Pierre Garcon
TE: OJ Howard, Gerald Everett, Tyler Kroft
Picks: 1.04, 1.05, 1.09, 2.01, 2.05, 3.01, 3.04, 3.05, 2019 extra 1st

Wondering what strategy people would take with those early picks given this rebuild + SF.

RB: SBarkley, DSwift, CAkers, BSnell, TGurley, DGuice
WR: JChase, BAiyuk, CSutton, THiggins, JJeudy, JReagor, BEdwards

Yeah, that's going to be a rough one. I agree that QB is the way to go early and often, but simply take BPA throughout because you need to add value to that team. QBs are usually cheaper at draft time than at any other point, so preference should go to the top 5 this year. But I like the notion of taking Guice if he falls. You have the time to wait his recovery out.
I'd shop Bradford, Tarik, and Ross soon as well for future picks. Bradford won't start for long and Ross is fragile in my opinion. Tarik has some value now, but may not have as much when you're ready to compete.

Agree with above, Mayfield then Darnold if possible at 4-5, then bpa. If possible take Sutton over rookies like Ridley as he will do less this year but has a higher ceiling for your future.

I would draft QBs until the top 5 rookie QBs are gone. If you end up with 4 of them, all the better. Once QBs are done fill up with WR (take Guice if he falls) and try to grab Giseckie with a mid 2nd.
