This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

I think Mariota has the higher floor and higher ceiling. He has a lot of things going for him this year.

I'd lean Mariota as well, but I think the two are fairly even in value.

Winston pretty easily.
It's not really that close if you really look at their progression over three years.

The Bucs led the NFL in passing yards last season and have a much friendlier passing scheme than the Titans.
Winston has improved in every major metric stat in each of his three years.

Last season - if you remove the 2 games he left early because of injury - he was a top 10 fantasy QB in points per game.
When he returned from injury over the last 5 games he finished #2 in fantasy scoring for QBs - led the league in passing yards and was 3rd in TD passes.

The suspension is not good - but he is playing for his job and career this season when he returns.

I'm HUGE on Winston right now because of all of the above.

He has the higher ceiling and floor.

About even, Jameis has the better weapons, Mariota adds more through the ground game. Probably lean Mariota due to the suspension and Winston's off-field issues.

For me, Winston and Mariota have the same floor, similar ceilings. Winston in a better team offense. Mariota with a better OC with incoming LaFleur. With Winston's current and potential future off-field issues, I sway towards Mariota (55-45), but the trade value between both is very close.

Pretty close but I’d go with Winston. I assume he will not be your only qb going into the season and you will pick/draft one up

Mariota by a mile for me. I think he's more talented, and frankly, I have no faith that Winston will not continue to be a rapey dbag who eventually finds himself in bigger trouble than he's gotten himself into thus far. I'm not investing in him.

When they came out, I had fingers crossed that the 1.01 owner took Mariota, because I wanted Winston at 1.02 (2 QB). They are close enough in skill, but I felt his size would help him hold up better. Now, his issues with staying out of trouble have me second guessing. I sold him in my SF before the suspension news and haven't regretted it.

Winston, I've seen more growth from him, enough for me to say he can be good for many years. I'm yet to see it from Mariota (I believe he can and most likely will get there but haven't seen it yet)
