1.02 Help after Guice Injury

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

If the RB you value at 1.03 is close to Guice, then you may want to take him instead.

If Guice was far above the rest and you aren't planning on competing this year, then take Guice.

If you are planning on competing this year and need a RB, then you may want to pick some one else or trade back.

The rookie rb rankings are starting to change. Kerryon johnson and freeman are moving up in my rankings, im starting to think they are in line for the most work behind barkley.

Never thought there was a huge difference between the 7 rbs behind barkley, so i wouldnt fault you for picking any of them. But guice is not worthy of 1.2 anymore, based on that fact alone. Missing a year is a big deal, especially when there are other rbs with better situations and are available right now.

Id still take Guice. Outside of Barkley all the other RBs are in an open competition or will share the load. I agree that Kerryon/Royce are moving up. Some of that is hype out of camp and some bc they looked good in preseason week 1. As good as both are they both will start the season in a rotation or lose work to other RBs on the roster. Penny was always over valued and was over drafted by Sea imo and their o line is trash. Rojo may need time to develop. Could argue all these backs wont reach peak value until next season. Once healthy at worst case Guice will be an early down back that catches 40 passes. I had him anoge the rest, but thats just me. If you arent going to compete take Guice and next year reap the rewards

Think Penny would really have to impress in his rookie year to be able to trade him for Guice. Lot of things have to happen for that to even be possible. O line needs and his pass blocking have to miraculously improve. Im not a Penny believer at all. I have him as 5-6th RB in this class.

Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer said first-rounder Rashaad Penny continues to show improvement in pass protection.
"I’ll tell you what, he’s really smart with all of the blitz pickups," Schotty said. "He sees things really well. It’s just the technique stuff that he’s got to get better with. Again, it’s just a whole different animal once you find your guy, then you’ve got to be able to go move your feet, get into position, kind of take away his inside strike. There’s an art to it, and unfortunately it’s hard to practice that until you get pads on so I will say again, from a ‘knowing who he has’ (standpoint), he’s been doing great."

Besides for Zeke and Saquon just about every rookie has to "miraculously" improve at pass pro....Gurley was kept off the field his rookie year largely due to pass pro problems. Dalvin cook has major concerns about pass protection coming into the league and was a major workhorse before injury.

Some people have Penny higher than Guice preinjury so no its not that out of the question....

Backs I would draft over Guice even before injury.

Penny
Michel
Johnson

Spending 1.2 draft capital on a rookie with an ACL that already fell to the 7th back drafted in the NFL is foolish.

If you want him next year trade for him. You have no idea how he will respond to surgery, what is drive to succeed is, and how will even pick up the offense next year. He isn't that great to begin with. He is good but picking him 1.2 given all the unknowns is horrible advice IMO.
