Taywan or Parker...who to roster

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Taywan or Parker...who to roster

Postby jimmychoi » Mon Aug 13, 2018 2:26 pm

I’m in a 16 team .5 ppr, and one of my final decisions is whether to roster Parker or Taywan. I’ve had Parker from the beginning, and I’m kind of tired of him. How many more chances, and should we consider all the negative press from camp? I’ve actively tried to trade him but haven’t had any takers. I drafted Taywan last year. I should have a competitive team, but I’m probably the 4th best team as of now. Thanks for any help.

Parker has more value, so I guess I'd rather hold him. But wouldn't be surprised if Taylor ends up being the better player. Can you trade Parker and keep Taylor?

I have been trying like crazy. I’ve basically offered parker for a bag of chips and beef jerky. My gut says we’ve seen what we’ll see from Parker. Flashes without consistency. I’m not expecting huge numbers from Taywan, but it would be nice to have a “reliable” wr3.

Parker not close , idc what training camp or practice says about him all I care is he is going to be the #1 in Mia. and put up real good numbers.

Taywan isn't even going to start he is the #3 or 4 WR on the team.

Parker. it's like Gase has decided to use reverse psychology all of sudden: 2 years of talking up Parker, early talking up this season, and then YOU SUCK (please don't suck, please don't suck, I need this job)

They didnt take is 5th year option for no reason, parker for me.

Tawan is such a hipster pick haha whether you like parker or not, on pure volume a lone, hes worth a significant amount more .

Parker has flashed, he just doesnt have to worry about the offense funneling through short throws every play now that landry is gone.

Fun fact: parker had more top 10 corners covering him on a per snap basis, than everyone but antonio brown.

Two questions:

In what possible 16 team league does Parker have zero value?

How shallow are rosters in a 16 team league that you're even considering dropping either one of them?

12 Team PPR League / 5pt passing TDs

WR - Amon Ra, D. Smith, M. Pittman, DK Metcalf, Jayden Reed, D. Douglas, K. Shakir, D. Wicks, T. Tucker, T. Scott

Are you really carrying Gabbert on your active roster? Any reason he isn't the cut?
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Apparently the league I’m in. I don’t know if you think I might be lying, but I’ve tried. This league drastically overvalues draft picks, so my strategy will be to try to package a few resources to get a stronger player. We keep 14 offense and 4 defense.

You have to roster Parker. He's a lock for 120+ targets, and is the de facto number 1 wr now.
12 team Salary Cap League (PPR):
20 man rosters plus 5 taxi squad spots,
Starters: QB, 5 flex, K, D
Flex lineup requirements: 0 RB, 5 WR / 1 RB, 4 WR / 2 RB, 3 WR / 3 RB, 2 WR.
WR **can be WR or TE**

Qb: Mahomes
RB: Swift, Mitchell
WR:
K: Sanders, Zuerloin
D/ ST: Panthers, Seahawks

Draft picks:
2022: 1.4, 1.11, 2.3, 2.10
2023: 4 1sts, 1 2nd, 1 3rd
2024: 2 1sts, 1 2nd, 1 3rd

It's 100% this and not even close. It doesn't matter how tired you've grown of Parker, you don't throw him to the wolves at this point to replace him with a guy with less talent and much less opportunity.

Even if Parker goes for 45-500-4 this season, it's not any worse than what Taylor will likely produce. At least you'd be giving the high opportunity/ more talented player the chance.

I haven't seen anything with the coaching staff talking down on him. In fact, I still see positive talk (albeit, not as highly as previous years) about him from the staff. The Miami media is who I see the negative stuff from. Plus, who is to say that X Howard isn't becoming an upper level CB? He's been pretty decent in the past.
