Startup almost over...how did I do?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Startup almost over...how did I do?

Postby joeday » Wed Aug 08, 2018 6:40 am

12 team, PPR league. Starting lineup is 1QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, 1FLEX, 1K, 1D/ST. I had the 2nd overall pick in the snake draft.

QB - Kirk Cousins | Eli Manning | Josh Rosen
RB - Ezekiel Elliot | Christian McCaffrey | Tevin Coleman | Duke Johnson | Marshawn Lynch | Bo Scarbrough | Rod Smith
WR - Tyreek Hill | JuJu Smith-Schuster | DJ Moore | Robert Woods | Chris Godwin | James Washington | Antonio Callaway | Danny Amendola | Ted Ginn Jr. | Curtis Samuel
TE - Evan Engram | Hunter Henry | Charles Clay
K - Chris Boswell
D/ST - Baltimore Ravens

So how does my team look for 2018 and how does it look long term?

I think it looks pretty good overall. I would’ve taken a WR instead of CMC but I like loading up on WRs in my startups. With that said, you do have two great starting options at RB with Zeke/CMC so that’s just a personal preference by me. I think you should be a playoff contender as long as your WRs pan out. The H.Henry pick should look really good this time, next year.

I like, you’ll have a chance this year but this team is really built for the next year or two

Looks decent. Only potential criticism I have is your WR core is pretty weak. My guess is that you got Moore at a decent value but probably took Juju too early and with other better options available. You’re very young though and built to last

pretty good. aside from zeke and engram you got a lot of question marks imo. seems like a team destined to finish around 6ths year after year. the overload of youth and not reliable guys at wr scares me a bit. engram is nice and backing hi up with henry is a great future move but im sure you still spent a decent pick on henry that could have been used for help elsewhere.

qb, rb, and te look set, just focus on wr and you should compete. i would trade moore and a pick for an established high end option and look to compete year 1. you gotta start 3 and your 3 right now are Hill (competing with sammy kelce and hunt for looks), juju (competing with ab and bell for looks), and Woods (competing with cooks and gurley for looks). you are in pretty dire need of a super studly reliable wr to really bring this team together.

Pretty solid draft, good starters. Depth may be an issue as the season and years roll on, but you have some upside youth they may develop nicely

Pretty solid. Young team and if WR works out you have a shot. I agree with trying to find a reliable WR, overall not bad though

I got Henry at 9.2 (which I posted on the Forum and Henry was the overwhelming choice)...JuJu I took ahead of Corey Davis, but that is literally the only WR available that even made me think on...I took Hill over Diggs and ARob, which I am still fine with (I have them close enough in my rankings and I just haven't seen it from Diggs enough and ARob kinda scares me with the young QB, new offense and injury). The one pick I made that I will most likely regret is taking DJ Moore over Gordon, but his situation scares me a bit.

You did well, but hard to know how you'll do this year without seeing some of the other top teams. I think you're going to need some help at WR this year if you want to compete. I like the players you have, but some of them are unproven and hard to predict how they'll perform. I like the team more for next year and on than I do for this year.
