Pick 3 of these

Postby davidxhorn » Mon Aug 06, 2018 10:08 am

I know it's not Dynasty, but this is from my one league that isn't dynasty (still a keeper league).
Standard scoring, standard rosters, 10 teams. $200 auction budget.

$45 Zeke
$25 Keenan Allen
$20 Tyreke Hill
$1 Alvin Kamara
$1 Jerrick McKinnon
$1 Kenyan Drake
$1 Josh Gordon
$1 Robert Woods

I can keep 3 of these. My initial leaning is for $3 worth on McKinnon, Drake, and Kamara.

Zeke, Kamara, Allen.
Kamara is a no brainer at $1.
Zeke may go higher than that this year, he was probably discounted last year due to the suspension.
Allen will definitely go for more than that this year, he was discounted due to the injuries.

Thanks - I am having trouble deciding between Zeke (who I imagine going for around $60-$65, making him a $20 discount), Allen (probably a $20-30 discount), and McKinnon (according to fantasy pros and beersheets, going around $30, making him a $29 discount. I think it might be wise to pile up on one position, too, so I can start with 3 good options and worry about other positions while the rest of the league goes after the other top backs.

Mckinnon and Kamara are my two locks
then its between Zeke and Drake to me, I'd go Drake as I like the feexibility of going in with your RBs already locked up while having all your cash

Zeke and Allen are proven studs. McKinnon had a nice run last year, but was relatively unknown and is going to a new team and new offense. I know they invested heavily in him, but who really knows how it will work out. You'll be saving about the same amount on Keenan as you are projecting to on McKinnon. I think this is an easy decision, I would be debating Tyreek over Keenan not McKinnon...

You really think Zeke will go for >= 30% of your total auction budget? That’s certainly higher than the top players go for in my experience. I would expect more in the $45-$50 range. I wouldn’t go $60-$65 for any player and there’s at least a handful I’d take before Zeke.

I haven't done an auction in a while, but when I did the highest players did tend to go for around $60-$65 of a $200 budget. I definitely expect Zeke to go in that range, especially in a diluted player pool due to other owners keepers.

Personally I would lock Kamara and Mckinnon. Those are two very good values. I personally think that Zeke at 45 isn't a great discount. I think Gordon and Drake for $1 are both interesting, as is Keenan for $25. I would probably go Gordon personally. That would leave you a ton of money to go buy some studs to pair with them.

Zeke and Kamara for sure. I'd probably go with Allen, maybe McKinnon. But definitely Zeke and Kamara.
