I know that its way too early in camp to speculate on the hype of either guy but I was offered Tre’Quan for James Washington.
It seems like, barring injury, Washington’s immediate upside is WR3 for Pittsburgh while Smith’s is beating Meredith out for WR2 for New Orleans. Both teams have top WR1s, lots of targets going to RBs and aging QBs.
Any thoughts on making the swap at this point?

Re: James Washington for Tre’Quan Smith
Fair trade, but since he came to you, I'd be trying to squeeze more out of him. Did you take Washington ahead of Smith in the rookie draft? If you did, he needs to pay more. He is essentially trying to move up in your rookie draft for free, as nothing has happened yet to change the value since your rookie draft. I'd make him add something on top, if you want to do it. Tre'Quan could be in line for more targets early on in his career, with less on the depth chart compared to the Steelers, but it's a pretty even trade for me, as I said, though, if you took Washington ahead of Smith in the rookie draft, he needs to pay a premium.

Hes trying to sell high based on the camp reports. Dont fall for it. Its still very early.

Re: James Washington for Tre’Quan Smith
I'd personally prefer Tre'quan, but the guy clearly wants Washington, so he should have to pay more if Washington was taken ahead in the rookie draft. A few plays in training camp doesn't change where they were drafted yet for me.

Re: James Washington for Tre’Quan Smith
For reference, I was offered M Lee straight up for T Smith yesterday. On paper, Lee is probably more valuable than either of these guys but certainly has a lower ceiling thus the reason I'm balking. The offer shows that Smith's value is rising. In your scenario, Washington and Smith were pretty equal to me before camp. Lots of unknown for both. It's probably a personal choice based on the offenses and what's in front of them on the depth chart. Early camp tidbits can't hurt either.

I prefer Trequan as well hust bc after this year something bad has to happen for him to not be the teams #2 WR. Washington will always be the #3 barring injury. As bith are rookies I agree you should ask for a little more... but I prefer to have Smith

Re: James Washington for Tre’Quan Smith
I would much rather have Washington straight up. I'd need a 2nd added to Smith to even consider this.

Re: James Washington for Tre’Quan Smith
Thanks for the advice. I ended up countering with Janes Washington for Emmanuel sanders and he accepted. I needed another solid vet WR to round out my WR corps for a run at the title.
