Gronk/Evans/1st for Kelce/Hopkins/3rd?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Gronk/Evans/1st for Kelce/Hopkins/3rd?

Postby Oblong_Ball » Sat Jul 21, 2018 2:04 pm

I give: Gronk, Evans, 2019 1st (late)
I get: Kelce, Hopkins, 2019 3rd (early)

Guy rejected my initial counter offer where I give a 2019 2nd instead of a 1st and sent me this. 16-team league in my signature. Thoughts?

I think a late 1st in a 16-team league is a small price to pay for those two upgrades. Take it and run.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

gronk is still the most impactful piece here imo, and i would stick with gronk and the 1st over kelce and the 3rd. that said....if you want to the other side, i think this is as good as its gonna get.

for me evans/gronk is close enough to kelce/nuk....that i would not pay what is likely somewhere around a 20 pick drop in next years draft and could potentially be quite a bit more (could realistically be 30 or more).

are you looking to buy kelce/nuk or is he just sending out offers?

not even totally sure you are getting any upgrades here. sure ppl think kelce will be > gronk and nuk > evans but i could easily see the exact opposite happening and it not be all that surprising. i'd counter back that you'd need his 2nd in the deal instead of 3rd or it would be a no go. that would cushion the draft pick drop

Just stay put, Gronk and Kelce are essentially a wash imo. Gronk will produce a bit more in the short term, but Kelce has a little more longevity most likely. As for the WRs, this time last year Evans was coming off of a great year and Nuk a down one. Evans was pretty strongly considered the number 2 WR in dynasty and went top 5 in every draft I was in, Nuk was usually in the early to mid 2nd. Now just a year later Nuk is the one coming off the great year and Evans the poor one. I think it's entirely possible Evans ends up having the better year once again, or being better from this time on.

Overall I would stay put in your situation, but if you prefer the safety of Kelce over the dominance of Gronk, and/or believe Nuk is a significant upgrade over Evans then go for it.
