2QB Rookie Draft

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2QB Rookie Draft

Postby dynastysports » Thu Jul 19, 2018 5:08 am

Posted this in two spots because I am not sure which place is better. Thanks in advance.

Anyone have any solid 2QB rookie draft rankings?

I am sitting at 1.05, which I think is a good spot because I should have a RB or two plus a quality QB that I can take there. But I also have a chance to get to 1.03 for relatively cheap. I know it is hard to say if I should go up to 1.03 without knowing who is there or what I would give, so I won't ask. That is why I am simply asking for some solid rankings, even if it is just your own rankings and it is only the first round the way you see it.

Thanks!

Well for starters, who are your top 3 RB's in the draft outside of Barkely (assuming hes going 1)?

Also, who's your top QB? More importantly what are your team needs? Without your team in the sig, it's hard to give advice.

For insight on the draft, the first QB to go in my 4 rd, 2 QB rookie draft was Mayfield at 7. The top 3 went Barkley, Penny, Guice. The first WR to go was Moore, at 2.4 (but don't expect him or other WR to fall that far in your league, there were some questionable picks between 1.8-2.2).
12 TEAM SUPERFLEX, TE Premium, 25 man rosters
QB - | Rodgers | Herbert | Mills
RB - CMC | Chubb | Dobbins | Keaontay Ingram
WR - McLaurin | Deebo | Waddle | Gabriel Davis | Elijah Moore | Mooney | C Ridley | Jameson Williams | Pickens | Alec Pierce | Wan'dale Robinson | Justyn Ross | B Edwards
TE - M Andrews | Friermuth

2023 Picks: 1st round(2), 2nd round(2), 3rd round (2)

take your top rb if you need rb. take your top qb if you need qb. no more thought is necessary. if you need both then lean qb as they always have a longer shelf life and larger trade value.
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

Only reason I'd move 1.5 to 1.3 in a 2QB is if you really, really needed a QB and were afraid they would go 2-4 after Barkley leaving with you with a QB you didn't like or an RB you don't need

1.5 is great, either a solid QB or the rookie RB that should go 1.2 or 1.3 in a 1QB draft

My superflex league went as below. I added my own personal ranking in bold on the right
1.01 - Saquon Barkley, RB, Giants 1
1.02 - Baker Mayfield, QB, Browns 2
1.03 - Rashaad Penny, RB, Seahawks 6
1.04 - Josh Rosen, QB, Cardinals 3
1.05 - Derrius Guice, RB, Redskins 4
1.06 - Calvin Ridley, WR, Falcons 13
1.07 - Sam Darnold, QB, Jets 5
1.08 - Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens 15
1.09 - Ronald Jones, RB, Buccaneers 11
1.10 - Royce Freeman, RB, Broncos 12
1.11 - Nick Chubb, RB, Browns 7
1.12 - Kerryon Johnson, RB, Lions 16

2.01 - Sony Michel, RB, Patriots 8
2.02 - Josh Allen, QB, Bills 9
2.03 - Mike Gesicki, TE, Dolphins 21
2.04 - DJ Moore, WR, Panthers 10

2.09 - James Washington, WR, Steelers 20
2.10 - Trequan Smith, WR, Saints
2.11 - Nyheim Hines, RB, Colts
2.12 - Mason Rudolph, QB, Steelers22

After that, if you don't have a crystal ball, may as well break out the dart board

This is fantastic. Thanks brother.

For those asking for the roster, I didn't give it because I was looking for rankings more then advice on the pick. But here it is anyway to help everyone out:
10 team 2qb 2rb 3wr 2flex te dst
Carr, Ryan, Goff, McCarron, Hoyer
Gurley, Gordon, McKinnon, Monty, Abdulla, Gore, Yeldon, Perkins
ARob, Cooks, Coleman, Garcon, Godwin, Funchess, Decker, Treadwell, Tavon, Floyd, Darboh, Dupre, Butler
Gronk, Butt, Gates, Shaheen

I don't really need a RB or a QB as you can see (although depth at RB would be nice. I really need a WR 1. I was looking for rankings because I am thinking about moving up to 1.03 to secure a top QB then moving one of my QBs for a WR1.

But thank you everyone for the advice.

i don't know what kind of league settings you have, but i want to be in a league with these people...

to OP: i would hang onto pick 1.05...in fact, if you can trade down to 1.10 + a early/mid 2nd, i would do that...still get one of the RB/QBs and then get one of the WRs....
good luck

I don't see why you would want to trade up to the 1.03. You have 3 good options at both QB and at RB. In a 10 team league I would almost see if you could trade down a few spots and see if you can get more draft capital to possibly move back up later in the draft. There will be teams that have shaky QB situations and want to grab them early so chances are that will push decent players. Could see Mayfield, Rosen and Darnold all being drafted in the 1st round and pushing guys down down the board.
