Grade my Start Up team

We had a start up auction $240 budget (price paid). Obviously I spent alot of my money on Gurley and Barkley and then focused on good deals and cheap rookies that I liked. Any thoughts on my team and the 2 trades I made would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not a fan of the strategy, so hopefully it works out for you. Gurley is obviously great and Barkley might end up being as good, but your WRs are going to hold you back for a while. I actually like the rookie WRs you got, but wouldn't expect much from them, especially this year and maybe even next. Also not a fan of Watkins, so obviously don't like that he's your WR1. QBs and TEs are good though (mostly unproven, but lots of upside), so you just need to focus on upgrading your WRs.

Super young but lots of potential. Something like 75% of the team is rookie or 2nd year. Not sure you'll really be able to assess for a year or two.

That guy got a great deal on Chubb. You have luck as the only "guaranteed" starter this year for you.

Have to agree, liking the WR you got, but they will need some time, unless everything breaks right. As a result, not sure I would have traded away my future 1sts.

Looks like you could have an issue at QB if Luck doesn't start. If you draft Luck as your QB, you need to cover yourself. Cheaply now may try and get Brissett.

With my QB situation, I figure if I can always go get Matt Ryan, Big Ben or Rivers or someone in that tier for a future 2nd in a one qb league if Luck is down, but yea QB could definitely be an issue for me. I also wasn't hesitant to trade my 2019 1st for Chubb (he is a top 3 pick imo this year in rookie drafts) because honestly outside of a few WRs right now I'm not really liking the class that much, but things can change quickly, so I might regret it.

i dont like the team and the trade for moore was horrible, you may not even want to keep him in your 20 going into next year and picks should be premium when everyone has to cut guys (unless draft is rookie only). your Rbs are great and if luck is healthy qb is good. otherwise that team is real weak fro a 12 team league

Yeah I think you vastly overpaid for Moore. I would've gotten Dhop or OBJ for longevity over Gurley as your team needs a couple years to develop, I'd much rather have a 29 year old WR than a 27/28 year old RB

Starters being Luck, Gurley, Barkley, Watkins, Tate, Njoku, Hyde, Stills, DJ Moore should be a middle of the pack at least in 12 team. Connor for $1 could end up being a steal. Solid B- for me but I also believe in Watkins based on the advanced metrics. He was pretty successful on the dig and post routes and I believe Mahomes can chuck it down field better than Goff could. Not sure how hot DJ Moore will start out so I wouldn't start him right away personally unless he just tears it up preseason.
Love doing a startup as an auction draft though.

Everything looked fine until I saw you guys up first round picks for the next 3 years.

This teams look like a middle of the pack team, one or two injuries and those picks can easily be top 3. It's hard to recover from losing those kinds of picks. I think you overpaid in both trades.

It will be hard to upgrade at WR unless you give up either Barkley or Gurley.

In what world am I cutting DJ Moore (especially if my WR are so bad) when he is clearly the best WR talent wise in this class and I have him graded as the 1.03 in this class after Saquon and Chubb. Obviously everyone has their own rankings on rookies but I have yet to see him ranked lower than the 1.07. I appreciate the comments though, just don't understand how you can logically get to me outright cutting Moore after one year on my team or any team for that matter that drafts him this year.

I like the overall strategy, of going young in the startup to compete in the future. I have seen people make this work and all of a sudden in a years time they are dominant (went on to win 3 years in a row). I don't like how you traded your firsts though. I think your picks are going to be top 3, possibly #1. I guess if you like Chubb/Moore over anyone coming out the next three years it could work out.
