Josh Rosen or Lamar Jackson

Postby nerdswag » Fri Jul 13, 2018 9:34 am

Have an opp to trade my 2019 2nd (likely late) for the 2.09 this year, where I would take Rosen or Jackson(only non-QB I would otherwise consider is Kalen Ballage). Any thoughts on the better pick?

Appreciate any responses.

I'd go with Rosen, he's my QB1 in this class.

I went rosen over all the other qb's at 2.07. Most NFL ready QB for sure and good weapon offense
Wouldn't want to gamble on Jackson who may have just slightly more upside if any.

I'd take Rosen as well but that's because I had Jackson at the bottom of the top 5 in this class.

For me, it depends on the scoring format in your league.
Is it 6pt passing TDs or 4pt?

In 4 pt and even 5 pt passing leagues, running QBs who achieve moderate passing results are like cheat codes where the weekly floor is terrific. I'm a Jackson fan. I also like Rosen.

I like the upside of Jackson more overall because of the rushing floor.

Rosen easily. I would even take Baker Mayfield before Jackson... or hold off and take Mason Rudolph later....

I hope Mayfield is already gone if he's choosing between Rosen and Jackson...

Jackson is my number 1 rookie QB in dynasty by a lot. I'd rather my pro team get Mayfield or Rosen, but my fantasy team? Give me Mike Vick 2.0.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...

Honestly I like to take the shot on upside, Lamar has by far the highest fantasy upside among the QB class. Definitely a big bust potential, but remember how dominant Vick was in fantasy some of his years, and I think Lamar is a better passer than Vick was coming into the league. Just my two cents, but either is solid pick.

Rosen strictly for value but I'd rather have Jackson. So maybe draft Rosen and trade for Jackson +. Reading the reports and reviews on camp Jackson appears to be catching on fast and Rosen is struggling to adapt. It's still early so this can change. A positive for Rosen is he may end up in the driver's seat much sooner (this season) than Jackson. But with Jackson's rushing ability, I feel he will be much more dynamic which will translate to fantasy points. Boom!

Jackson easily.

In dynasty you go upside and it's not close. If you miss go trade for Rivers and you have a QB for a year. Point is, it's not a position of limited supply. So I'll take the guy that can run for 800 yards if given a shot. Rather unique player.
