3.02 and 3.06 for 2.07?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

3.02 and 3.06 for 2.07?

Postby Jcedwards » Thu Jul 12, 2018 5:10 am

GIVE: 3.02, 3.06
RECEIVE: 2.07

Am I missing something or is this a no brainer?

I have a pretty stacked team, so it is not like I need the depth. But we did add a 5 player taxi squad this year, so the players I would pick in the 3rd round would be placed there.

So is it better to move up in the draft or stay put?

In a vacuum it always tends to make sense to move up, especially when the cost is low, because you can usually move back if need be. Since you seem to feel your team is stacked, it may also make sense for you to condense picks.

Seems cheap to move up. I prefer the 2nd

Honestly depends who is there at 2.7
In single QB I see a tier break somewhere in 2.2-2.4

If you're sf, definitely 2.7, otherwise you are likely better off with two shots in the third

I did make the trade. Ended up grabbing Sutton at 2.07. Idk how he fell that far, but I scooped him up. I was going to take him at 2.04, but Trey Burton was on the board and I knew the guy at 2.05 and 2.06 was needing a TE, so I wanted to grab Burton, because I knew he wouldn't be there at 2.07. I was more confident that Sutton would make it to 2.07 than Burton. It was definitely a risky move, but it paid off.

It never hurts to know your fellow owners needs and draft tendencies - kudos for doing the work, and taking the risk - looks like it worked out for you. :)

Good question. The majority of the 1st and early 2nd round went as expected. Someone did grab Lynch in the early 1st (idk why- he wasn't kept though), another one grabbed Jamaal Williams late 1st (he was dropped), Gallup was the 3rd WR off the board at 1.12, and Rosen and Darnold were taken before 2.04. Guy with 2.5 and 2.6 went with Jackson and Hines, thus allowing me to grab Sutton.

Thanks. I thought it was a great trade after I was able to land Sutton. Pretty happy with the way my draft turned out for me.

That’s good deal to get Sutton value wise for sure

Preference wise I would have taken Pettis if he was there
