All in with this years RBs?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

All in with this years RBs?

Postby keebs3 » Sun Jun 24, 2018 9:16 am

For team one- 10 team half PPR.
I own 1.1 and 1.2. Would you move a random 2019 and 2020 1st for the 1.3 this year? I could then add Barkley Guice and Penny to my core of Nuk Keenan and Diggs.
Or is that just too much?

No. Having 1 and 2 is plenty. I see no need to get the 1.3 as well.

Owners are growing far too secure in thinking that rookies are guaranteed. I'll take the two future firsts.

Yeah f you apply any sort of time discount at all on the 2020 1st (which you should be) then it adds very little to this package. The 1.03 >>>> random 2019 1st.

Yeah that’s why I want 3, ha- better odds at finding my RB2. My other option is to trade my 1.2 and next years first for...?

I disagree. This year's 3 RB's are already in good starting positions, while the future firsts could be anywhere. This spreads the risk if one of the 3 busts. I do this deal all day long.
Start 1QB, 1-4RB, 1-4WR, 1-4TE. TE prem

Team 1 (14 team)

QB- K.Murray,,Lock, Brissett
RB- D.Cook, JRobinson ,Mattison, Coleman, J.White, E.Benjamin
WR- Hopkins, Evans,, Hamler, Fitz, DeSean Jax, Stills, V.Jefferson, T.Smith
TE- Hurst, Ebron,, Akins, Cox, Dissly, Uzomah, Jarwin

Team 2 (16)

RB- E.Elliott, Kamara, Edmonds, B.Scott, Gaskin, L.Murray, Love, Perine, JJ Taylor
WR- K.Allen, M.Evans, Fitzgerald, R.Cobb, D.Jackson, Pascal, D.Robinson, Watson, Devernay
TE- Hooper, Ertz, Schultz, Alie-Cox, Arnold, Okwuegbunam, Hollister

Team 3 (16)

QB- Mariota,, Foles, K.Allen, Kizer
RB- D.Harris, Hynes, Mattison, AJ Dillon, Ozigbo
WR- D.Parker, Peoples-Jones, Pascal, Funchess, Isabella

Depends. By value and roster, yes, great deal.

But, you'd lose any capital that you have to make a move in-season to fill in your roster due to injuries, etc. And you can often get pretty good players in-season for a single first-round pick and top-end players for two...

It's all about how you approach roster construction. If it's about getting value wherever you can find it, then I'd make the move. If it's about insuring that you have a back-up plan in case something goes wrong and keeping ammo for likely better value later, then I'd pass.

As for me, I'd definitely keep the picks (but I'm also not that high on Penny).

Any idea on where the 19 1st projects to be?

Early first now >>> mid-late 1st and 1st two years out

I'm just going to project the two 1sts are mid since they're "random." Two mid 1sts for the 1.03 seems fair.

I'll take the 1.03 pretty easily. 2020 is far far away I mean so much can change in 2 years that a 2020 1st isn't worth much at all. I'd take the stud RB prospect and be happy about it. There are rookie years where there isn;t even two decent RB prospects for fantasy so if you need RB's this is the year to grab them. No they all won't pan out but who knows what you'll get over the next two years either? How many rookie drafts have come along where you can easily get TWO 1st round draft picks with the 1.02 and 1.03.

Value wise I'd say it is a fair deal if they're mid picks like Goddard says. Kinda hard to project 2020 though. Personally I would not do it, unless I was extremely confident both picks will be late. Just don't like selling future capital

If you do, I'd go Barkley, Guice, Chubb though. Chubb will have probably less of an immediate impact, but I consider him the more talented then the other options. Considering you're drafting 3 RB, I think you can afford a longer development with 1 of them. (although if the picks are yours it makes them better)
