1.2 vs. 1.7/1.8

Postby keebs3 » Fri Jun 22, 2018 2:51 pm

I've not sent any offers yet- I own the 1.1 and 1.2 in our draft next week.
Would you consider moving the 1.2 for both 1.7 and 1.8?

After Barkley I'll have very little RB depth on my team (team 1 in sig). Is this an offer I should explore? What would the other owner need added?
I'd be giving up on Penny or Guice, but would get me two of the elite 8 of RB's this year.

What do you all think?

I think that the caliber of player you'll get at 1.07 is not much different than the 1.02. I'd do that deal if you can get it.

Giving up on getting Guice is tough, I'm one that might consider this deal as I am pretty high on Freeman and Kerryon, who tend to get drafted around this spot. I've made moves in the past to get pick(s) around this area if I am able to get them, but that was at the luxury of knowing they were still available.

This, in rookie drafts I have seen this year there is no true consensus on who is 1.02-1.08 with the RB's so you could make the trade and still get the back you would have taken at 1.02 and an extra one also.

Giving up on Penny would be tougher IMO. He was considering both Guice and Penny. Personally, I have Penny @ 1.02, and Guice at 1.04. Whatever the OP's preference if he decided on either, it's tough, but with this class the deal might be worth it. I'd probably stick with Penny myself, because he projects as a 3 down workhorse which is so tough to find, but if the starting requirements lend more to depth, I might take the deal.

To that point, OP, it looks like with the roster and starting requirement you have, you are better off holding on 1.02, and taking either Penny or Guice which you stated. I would take Penny every time personally, but you are not asking who to take, so it's up to you. They are both good backs. You also have 1.01, so you really don't need more picks with that roster and starting requirements being what they are.

1.02 for me, I think there’s a tier break after 1.04

It really depends on how you feel about Kerryon and Freeman. I like both of them but to me Penny/Michel/Guice are in a tier of their own then Chubb/Rojo are in a tier then it goes Kerryon and Freeman. Personally I'd rather throw my 1 dart from 5 feet away to hit the bullseye than having 2 darts to throw from 10 feet away.

Thanks all- I’m still holding and leaning Penny.
But, I’m throwing some future pick/player packages at the 1.3 owner.. then I wouldnt have to decide between him and Guice 😁

Good call. You should also try to glean some info on who he likes. He may well want Guice and you could get those picks and still land Penny.

Wouldn’t sell 1.02 for that but it’s pretty close, and I’d consider it OTC at 7 if the right guys fell. Assuming you took who the trade partner is targeting at 2.

Statistically speaking, it's about equal vs any rookie draft.

In this draft, I think the 1.02 is weaker than normal and the 1.07/08 picks are stronger than normal.

So I'd make this deal.

1.2. Quality over quantity. I prefer to pick the guy I want instead of the guy 7 other people passed on. I’m addicted to scouting however. Superflex I go with the two picks.
