I probably wouldn't flat out drop him. I'm sure you can at least get a 3rd for him and then pickup your favorite player from that list.

I'll usually do something like send every owner an offer for a 3rd for a drop guy like this.
Give it a couple days.
Then start with 4ths if no one is biting. Pick up some capital.

I'm dropping Graham Gano and picking up Enunwa/Ebron and figuring out how to re-roster a K in a few months just before the NFL kicks off. I'd keep Eifert for now. His value can't get much lower and can only go up if he sees the field and has a descent game or two. At that point, trade him for what you can.

This off season Eiffert, 2.10, 4.10 netted me OJ Howard in a 12 team league. I would try to trade him before dropping him.
