Minor Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Minor Trade

SEND Corey Coleman and Jared Cook
RECEIVE ASJ and Curtis Samuel

First thought was no way, because Coleman may be worth more than those 2 alone. However, Cook is going to be a drop. ASJ is an upgrade on Cook (have Njoku and Eifert as well and thinking of moving Eifert), but I am also thinking of adding Burton/ Kittle during our draft. Samuel probably does nothing in this trade (we do have a taxi squad, so Samuel would be placed on that).

Essentially this would allow me to open a roster spot to add someone else during the draft, while upgrading from Cook to ASJ. Should I still pass or ask for a pick or another player?

His roster:
QB- Jimmy G, Luck, Tannehill
RB- Fournette, D Freeman, CMC, Ajayi, Yeldon
WR- Evans, Allen, Hill, Shepard, Doctson, Meredith
TE- Hunter Henry, ASJ, Howard
D/ST- Lions, Vikes
K- Gostkowski

His picks: 1.02, 3.07, 4.01, 2019 1st, 2019 2nd
12 team .5 PPR league. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX, 1 D/ST, 1 K, 13 BN, 1 IR

2019 and 2020 Champion

QB- Mahomes / Purdy
RB- Barkley / Pollard / Kamara / Brian Robinson / Dillon / Charbonnet / Dowdle
WR- ARSB / Amari Cooper / Ridley / Diontae Johnson / Michael Thomas / Doubs / Wicks
TE- Goedert / Waller
D/ST- Bills / Dolphins / Chiefs
K- Butker

Taxi- Levis / Roschon Johnson / Jameson Williams / Michael Wilson / Okonkwo

Picks- 2023: 1.02, 1.11, 2.10, 2.11, 3.11, 4.10, 4.11

Im torn. On one (broken) hand, I still think Coleman has the better chance to become fantasy relevant. On the other, Jared Cook is bad. I am higher than most on ASJ though. Could you get someone other than Samuel? Maybe Doctson?

Yea I feel Coleman is probably better than both players on his side though. He is just in a bad situation in CLE, but could very well be traded before the year. If he does get traded, he may end up having some good value. I think his whole thing was being able to place Samuel in the taxi squad, which I would definitely. I've been wanting to free up a roster spot, so this would allow me to do so. My other option was to jut drop Cook for the roster spot. I would be upgrading to ASJ though, which would help my TE depth.

jared cook is good. he was a top 12 TE last year, idk what else you want from a guy at the tail end of his career. Corey coleman was a 15th overall pick and he is a dominant WR (in college...obviously has not been dominant at the nfl level but he has been pretty good when healthy), just has had some broken hands which sucks but i cant really fault him for his bones breaking while catching rockets lol. Hes only going into his 3rd year and so far he has worked with RG3 (outta the league and now back in a 3rd qb role with baltimore), Cody Kessler (been a 3rd string type dude and now is with jaxonville), and Kizer (a 2nd round rookie who was benched for kessler at one point, now also not a brown and is a backup qb)

so even when hes been healthy he has had trash and a cycle of qbs to work with...in his 2 partial seasons.

way too early to give up on him imo

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think ASJ is the best piece in this deal.

Ha that's what I was thinking! And there's only a handful of times you'll ever get to say that 😂
