Burton or Mayfield/3rd

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Mayfield/3rd (mid-late) or Trey Burton?

Burton or Mayfield/3rd

Postby 1coldone » Wed Jun 20, 2018 5:13 pm

OK, the owner I traded Cousins/3rd to (for Tyrod/1st 2019) offered me:

I get Mayfield/3rd
I give Trey Burton

Thought I would see what people think.
For team 2 in sigature.

Thanks

in a 1QB league I'll take Burton here, you don't have any other TE and you don't need Mayfield

Might wanna fix Shadeen to Shaheen in your sig

lol, thanks, It is fixed.

I was thinking Burton, as well. Though, Ben is old (was talking retirement last offseason), Jackson is behind Flacco, and a matter of time before they put Mayfield in...imo. Even with 3 QBs it could become an "oh crap" situation...lol.

No one thrills me on the wavier wire, either. Here are a few.

Gates, Seals-Jones, Watson, Jesse James, Vernon Davis, Geodart, Higbee, McDonald, Thomas, Wilson, Allen, Fleener, Anderson, Andrews

I think it's pretty even. Burton will be more important to your 2018 roster, but Mayfield surely has more long term upside. I think you choose based on your team's 2018 goals
10 Team Half PPR Scoring SF
QB: Mahomes, Hurts, Minshew
RB: Kamara, K. Hunt, Warren, Bigsby, D. Cook, Jamaal Williams, J. Wilson, McLaughlin, McKinnon, J. Kelley
WR: A.J. Brown, Diggs, K. Allen, C. Watson, Cooks, Pickens, W. Robinson
TE: Kelce, J. Smith, Musgrave

From this list I would be interested in Geodart. 2nd choice would be Seals-Jones.

I would not worry to much about Ben, I think he is in it for a couple more years and anyways, finding a new QB in a 1QB league is the easiest thing to do.

Big Ben is good for a couple more years, Jackson should be ready to rock and roll by then, worst case you make a trade mid season for another QB, Brady/Brees are elite than can be had for a mid/late second at this point if Ben gets hurt. Keep Burton and at the same time what on earth are you doing letting Goedert sit on the waivers like that!? Go grab him quick, I don't care if he's behind Ertz, he was the TE1 in this years class and could still carve a role out for himself, more than Shaheen

I'd keep Burton, especially for that team.

I'd rather have Mayfield but I don't like Roethlisberger and expect you to need a QB by 2019. You won't be able to get Mayfield this cheap a year from now.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Agree with skip. As trite and overused as the term is, I really do think Baker is a generational talent at QB.

I would make the trade, then drop Samuel and pick up RSJ as a placeholder TE. I agree with Titans95 about Goedert being the best long-term option, but with your shallow rosters, you can’t afford another multi-year project. Unless Ertz gets hurt, he won’t be fantasy relevant for a couple years, at least.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

Start up draft. 18 round vet and the a 2 round rookie. Burton was not on the bears then. Wire is locked until a week before the season starts. Then it is blind bid fight. lol

Yea, figure I need to pick another TE rather I trade Burton or not. Those are the 2 I have eyed, maybe Gates (since Henry is out for the season) for the short term.

I would take the QB and go find another TE. Burton is a JAG. Plenty of his type available IMO.
