Big Bakley Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Big Bakley Trade

Postby gerg4747 » Wed Jun 20, 2018 4:59 pm

For team in sig would you trade Devonta Freeman, two 19 1sts (both projected early) and a 20 1st for Barkley? Or is this too much to give? Thanks.

I'm going to say too much if those 2019 really do look early. I feel like others will say the reverse though.....

It's probably too much. But that seems to be what it takes to get Barkley right now. 1st are no guarantee and Freeman's injuries could be a concern.
The value is there but still not sure how many Barkley owners would take that deal. I'm glad I have the 1.01 because I wouldn't pay what it's costing to trade for him.

I would say too much, as well. Mortgaging the future for 1 player (though maybe the player for a long time). Hate all my eggs in basket. An injury would leave nothing for a year (or more).

That said, not sure I would trade Barkley for that, either...lol.

Definitely an overpay by at least a 1st. Freeman is getting now value here.

Yeah come on....no way is Barkley worth two early 1sts, Freeman, AND 2020 1st!?!? so 3 1sts and freeman and two of those are early? No way. Keep Freeman and enjoy all the fun of having 3 1sts in 2 years when the time comes. If you insist on making this trade then its more fair to do Henry or Howard no Freeman.

My Take is if that is your roster then I make the trade. The reality is your team is stacked and you have plenty of assets to go after picks anytime when they are closer to players than magic beans.

Might try to get an upside WR like a Lee or Hogan if he owns a player like that or a 2nd or two back just to have a few throw in assets for your next big deal.

I take this because you have T Coleman on your roster who's value could skyrocket next season. Additionally, you have some upside RB's you can move later.

Yes it looks like an overpay but in reality you already have a great team so you know how to gain assets downstream.

Go for it!

I got Barkley for cheaper than this, and I’m hoping to hell he ends up as good as some of the packages that get thrown around for him

The reality is F no to trading a very solid rb, 2 early 1sts, and another first for a single first that is an rb we’ve never seen on the football field yet

I might be inclined to move Freeman with a single 1st, but not 3...that's kooky talk.

The name of the game is winning a championship. What everyone on this forum forgets too many times is you don’t win any awards or cash for having the most “value” or the most draft picks in 2020 when you might have been hit by a bus or passed away. SB makes your team a monster now and most likely till the time you get firsts again. Let someone else suck for three years looking at firsts that will probably bust when the time comes. Go get your championships.

I would pay that, and I wouldn’t sell for that. I would need zeke or gurley in the trade, other than that he’s not going anywhere.

Bakley kills it, love that dude.

pass. Barkley isnt gonna wildly outscore freeman, not to the tune of being worth an additional 3 firsts at least.

I'm a huge Barkley believer (like a lot of others), but that seems like a lot to me. 3 first round picks (and 2 of those looking to be early) and a solid RB for a guy who looks the part (but is also an uncertainty as of right now). But it has been said that he's the best back to come out since AP, so that is the going rate for him though.

However, looking at your roster, you are stacked, so adding Barkley would only make you that much better.

That is a tough one because you are overpaying, but you also have the roster to do it and not really need those future picks because your team is stacked for the forseeable future.
