Difference between 1.2 and 1.4?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Difference between 1.2 and 1.4?

Postby keebs3 » Tue Jun 19, 2018 4:24 pm

I've recently bought the 1.2 to go along with my 1.1. But, to be honest I'm having a hard time separating Guice, Penny, and Sony with who to take. This is going to be my starting RB along with Barkley, and if they both have solid rookie campaigns I can compete.
I'd much rather pick at 1.04 and get something on top. What would you be looking for to move back two spots?

I was thinking of offering:

1.2 + Duke for
1.4 + McKinnon

or

1.2 + 3.7 for
1.4 +2.4

Either of those reasonable offers?

If you can make that first offer work then absolutely do it but i highly doubt it gets done, the way rookie drafts are going everyone in that 1.02-1.05 range is holding out hope that "their" guy will still be there since its a toss up like you are saying. I doubt someone see's Guice+Duke worth more than Michel/Mckinnon. For me I would take Penny at 1.02 and not risk it over the other trade, if Barkley and another rookie are your two starting RB's then I'd want the one with the clearest path to a bellcow workload in Penny over Michel or Guice.

In all drafts where I had 1.2 (3), people would not even give up a late 2nd to go up to 1.02 from 1.04. With Penny, Guice, Chubb and Michel etc., nobody will pay up, since there is no consensus 1.02 player, like Barkley is with the 1.01. In every case i just kept the 1.02 and took Penny.

Well as a Seahawk fan Penny is atop my list as well. I'm guess I'm just afraid if he busts its a lost for my fantasy team AND my real team.

I'll send some feelers out and see if anyone is interested. I could also shop it for a current player. I gave up McCoy and my 2nd for the pick, so I could still score a major upgrade if I could land an established RB

Just take him. He's a 3 down back with exceptional college production, a 4.46 40, tons of good stats based on PFF grading, and has a first round pedigree. There's really not a lot of risk on Penny as a talent, just whether the Seattle OL improves with Fluker being healthy and their younger players developing further, with their new OL coach. Penny is explosive in space and the fact the Seahawks drafted perhaps the best blocking TE in the draft, and are bringing back the fullback into their playbook bodes well for Penny.

Much rather Penny over Guice, who, although I like, doesn't strike me as good value at the 1.02. He's been going 1.02 a lot, but I don't get it personally. He's a talented back, but I'll take Penny's superior speed and opportunity in the passing game, as well as the first round pedigree, being tied to an elite QB in RW all day over the 7th RB off the board in the NFL draft. I'd be happy with Guice @ 1.04, but not before then. If you like Penny take him, if you have a good offer that helps you gain more depth, take it. My experience is you won't get what you are looking for to make it worth your while. Besides, as a Hawks fan you'll be kicking yourself for not taking Penny if he becomes what he should become in their offense.

Don't think someone would take that offer for 1.02 to move back 2 spots, but if you can, id send it

I agree with the others, everyone is holding and hoping there guy will fall. I would take your favorite RB at 1.02 and make it known that he's available for a slightly later 1st+. If anyone loves the guy you took, they'll come to you

If you can get 1.04 + McKinnon for your 1.02, that'd be a steal, but I doubt that will be accepted. If not, I'd be happy with Penny.

Agree.

Very small difference between 1.2 and 1.4.

In fact I could make an argument that there is little difference between 1.2 and 1.8 depending on rosters.
