Rodgers/Jimmy G Deal

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side would you take in this deal?

Rodgers/Jimmy G Deal

Postby Markdavis3033 » Tue Jun 19, 2018 4:33 am

I traded for Jimmy G a couple of months ago but I’m starting to read reports that he struggled during mini camp. I’ve been exploring some trade options for the top 5 dynasty QBs and I’ve been spitballing an offer with an owner for Aaron Rodgers. The owner really needs an upgrade at RB or WR.

As it stands, the offer would potentially be:
Jimmy G and Devonta Freeman
In exchange for:
Rodgers and Darius Guice

Should I take the deal, pass or counter??

Here’s my roster: (start 11 on offense)

QB (start 2):
Brady
Jimmy G
Josh Allen
AJ McCaron
Davis Webb

RB (start 3-5):
D. Freeman
McCaffrey
Mark Ingram
Dion Lewis
Kerryon Johnson
Tevin Coleman

WRs (start 3-6):
Keenan Allen
Allen Robinson
Larry Fitz
Chris Hogan
Randal Cobb
Keke Coutee
Willie Snead

TEs (start 1-2):
Gronk
Trey Burton
Jared Cook

Here’s some of the pieces of the other owner:

RBs (he has REALLY limited options)
Guice
TY Montgomery
Riddick

WRs
Crabtree
Jordy
Will Fuller
DJ Moore
Kenny Galloday

TEs:
Olsen
Brate
Jessie James

Wow. In startups, Freeman is only 5 spots away from Guice.

And Rodgers >>>>>>>>>> Garoppolo

I'd pull the trigger on that rather quickly.

Yeah I'd probably do this for the fact that Rodgers is going the be the #1 QB in fantasy for the next 5-6 years and Guice is 21 vs Freeman 26.

Easily Rodgers side. Don't be surprised if the spitballing becomes adding more from your side or the other owner gets cold feet entirely.

I love Garoppolo, but Rodgers alone >> Garoppolo + Freeman in 2QB. You're getting Guice for free here. Instant accept.

It took the owner minutes to get cold feet. I think I would’ve accepted quickly if he formally offered the deal but he was only spitballing ideas.

What more should i include to get this done? Or is there an offer that could be made that could get me more value in the deal. He’s really desperate for rb help and some upgrades at wr. I could explore either side of that deal but how?

Ah man that sucks.

I would start with Tevin Coleman, if you are already sending him Freeman. Might be enough.
