Rebuild Advice

Postby colonnaj94 » Mon Jun 18, 2018 4:46 pm

What's up guys, so I was just wondering what you would do to try and fix this disaster of a rebuild?
12 Team PPR 1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 TE 1 FLEX
QB Derek Carr, Ben Roethlisberger, Mason Rudolph
RB Leonard Fournette, Jordan Howard, Kerryon Johnson, Frank Gore, LeGarrette Blount, Ameer Abdullah Akrum Wadley
WR Michael Thomas, Will Fuller, Josh Doctson, Mike Williams, Anthony Miller, Zay Jones, Amara Darboh, Breshad Perriman, Ryan Switzer, Marquez Valdes Scantling, Brice Butler, Auden Tate
TE David Njoku, Mike Gesicki, Austin Hooper

- No 2019 or 2020 Picks, which is another concern of mine.. (I went for a title run during each of the last 2 years and came up short both times)

I just hate pretty much everything about this team right now outside of Thomas and Fournette, who are two players that I really am a huge fan of..

What would you guys do here?

Your team is competitive if it is a 12 team or more league. Now the fact you have no picks for the net two years is what would worry me most. You have good young WR (Doctson, Jones, Williams, Miller) RB is not bad with LF and Howard also have K Johnson who I like and TE you have a young top pick who should just get better. QB is OK with Carr. You need to add a little depth at RB but overall you will be in the playoffs.

How many team league is it? What are the starting requirements?
For a 12 team league or more it is not that bad of a team.
Solid at QB with Big Ben- unless super flex you don't need 3 qbs
Solid at RB with Fournette, Howard, and hopefully Kerryon
Weak at WR with only M. Thomas.
Average at TE. I say average but you have 2 high upside guys here so it could turn out a little worse or better depending on how they develop.
What really hurts this team is that you gutted it of all future picks in 2019 and 2020. If it had draft picks I would say you could stay the course and compete. Without them you will have to only rely on player development and waiver wire to add depth to your team.

This is going to upset you, but while Fournette's value is high, I would shop him around to RB-needy teams for a good WR (or two) plus a 2019 1st. Since you must start 3WRs, I would rather see some more talent on that line and you'd still have Howard and Johnson. Other than that, you don't have much past your starters that currently has enough value to trade for picks. You may have to wait and see which WRs develop before making any moves.

Yeah, gonna agree with the selling Fournette for good value would be a quick way to shore up this team and re-stock it's picks which you need since not looking like a favorite for the ship.

Don't just move him though, shop him around and see who'll overpay thinking an RB is all they need to be a favorite, and Fournette is a younger one to keep him up there a while

such a disaster of a team lol. i would wait and see how your high end youth develops and have a little more pride in your squad! having no picks sucks but you have 6 first or second year players who were first round talent (in dynasty rookie drafts i mean) so you are not dead in the water. if you really want to build i would suggest selling MT for another WR you like and ask for a 1st with them (MT for AROB or HILL and a 1st). do the same with fournette (LF for Cook and a 1st, lf for guice and a 1st). that way you still have guys you like, high end players, and gain some draft capital to work with.
