Cooks+ for Davis

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Cooks+ for Davis

Postby jdomer2403 » Sun Jun 17, 2018 12:46 pm

Davis owner here w an offer of cooks and an early second on the table. Does cooks adapt to the Rams system and thrive or is it Sammy Watkins sequel?

I could lean one way or another depending on roster. This doesn't seem to match your sig though.

Based on what tho? I'll take the still young Cooks and his already few 1000 yard seasons vs what Corey Davis might be.

Well I supposed its based on how highly Corey Davis was touted as a rookie prospect and how highly he got drafted and how he's tied to a young emerging QB. Personally I like Davis potential more than Cooks but that's because I see him as a true WR1 for a team not a field stretcher like cooks. Thats preference and I get Cooks has a better track record but thats just my gut feeling and I'm very concerned with the Rams as a landing spot for him.

An understanable opinion. But even if Davis amounts to being that, I still dont think with only a year under his belt, should anybody be adding anything to Cooks to get Davis.

Agreed their ADP is nearly identical but if someone is really worried about Cooks in LA and LOVES Davis sometimes you have to sweeten the pot if you are set on owning a specific player.

Everybody is trying to chase the next top overall dynasty asset. That seems like a fools errand. Cooks is a young and proven WR1. Davis has work to do to reach Cooks. I’d take the Cooks side easily

The two should be close enough where an early 2nd would make me lean to whichever side that was on.

I remembered when Tread was ranked like 14th with no production. 24 year old three 1k yard seasons for a 23 year old from a small school who has excelled at nursing injuries. Which side are you guys saying has to add? If Davis becomes cooks he’s pretty darn good, it’s possible, but it’s a lot less likely than for cooks to keep improving.

I would need a late first on Davis or I would move on from this discussion quickly.
