Rebuild or sit tight

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuild or sit tight

Postby JRM12 » Tue Jun 05, 2018 10:41 pm

Team in sig, I have been focusing on rebuilding and have a lot of picks in the next few years. Where should I go from here.
Should I look at moving Keenan/arob? I’ve tried getting into the top 7 this year and no one is interested or they are asking too much. My only chance is to hope people decide to move on draft day.

I would continue to rebuild. I would try to sell of Josh Gordon, Dez, Cobb, DJax, Clay and Alex Smith if you can. Use your picks this year and what you can get from those players to continue rebuilding.

I think you should keep Trubisky/Keenan/Arob/Parker as it is a nice core to build around and then sell everything else.

I'd look to move some of those players mentioned, Gordon, Dez, Cobb, etc and try to move up and grab one of the top RBs in the draft.

In a 10 team league, I see this team as pretty weak. I would wait to sell off some of the guys listed above until the season and they have 1 or 2 good games. If Dez signs with GB, his value will jump immediately, not to what it was, but higher than it is. Honestly, your best bet may be to shop Keenan, he probably has the highest value and coming off a terrific season. In my opinion, he is always an injury risk and I do not believe he will repeat those stats ever again and at some point Rivers will call it quit. With all those picks, you may be able to find a stud young RB for a pick and keenan.

I agree with most of what has been said. You have so many picks this year that you won't be able to keep them all. I'd try to package a few to move up this year or trade them for future 1sts and try to hit the lotto.
20 man Rosters PPR start QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, Flex (WR,RB,TE) K DEF 12 teams $220 cap
QB: Luck $22, Jameis $1, Mariota $1
RB: Saquon $18, D. Johnson $13, Henry $17, Gus Edwards $13, D. Martin $3
WR: Julio $50, Mike Evans $30, Diggs $12, Tyreek $8, Mike Williams $7, Godwin $4, Sutton $6, Agholor $8
TE: Burton $14, Hooper $2
K: Tucker $1

I agree that you need to continue the rebuild, but I disagree with the strategy above.

There's no way that you can move any of the players that were listed to get in the top half of the first round. Of course everyone says to sell Dez, Cobb, etc. The problem is that no one is buying.

Unless you see a player at, say, 1.05 or 1.07 or whatever whom you LOVE, then sit tight. Heck, you could even trade 1.09 for a first-round pick in 2019 potentially.

What I would do is decide for myself: Is there any player on my roster in whom I REALLY believe? Maybe it's Allen, maybe it's Robinson, maybe it's both. Maybe Turbisky. Maybe Cohen. Maybe no one!! You have enough picks coming up that you can afford to keep any player(s) that you think are and/or will be studs. Trade anyone else away when you can -- like Cohen or Trubisky now if you aren't a believer, Dez or Cobb later when they have some value added.

No reason to rush or force anything. Moving up from 1.09 to 1.07 probably will cost you more rebuild capital than the incremental jump that it will give you in the player that you acquire.

Don't move Keenan or Arob. Build around them and sell high on guys like Gordon, Parker, Bryant, Cohen, and any other overrated players people in your league would be willing to buy.

Ditto. You need help everywhere besides your two wr's. Keep rebuilding, don't give up on your future 1st either.
