Marlon Mack?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

RBBC

Don’t see him as a 3 down back. He’ll lose touches to Hines, Wilkins, and Turbin.

I think Wilkins takes the 1st and 2nd down role at some point this season. I still think Mack can contribute and could be a flex option in PPR but I don't see him being an every down back.

He'll take a step but I don't think he is a 3 down RB. Value him currently around early 2nd

If Hines and Wilkins can show up I think Mack and Turbin are expendable. I am buying shares on Hines and Wilkins mid draft when possible. Regardless, Mack could be looking at a uphill battle to be the lead back in Indy.

Mack has a legit shot to be a 3 down player. Has a nice burst and good hands and decent blocker. Flashed a lot of talent and with Indy revamping their line the future is bright. Luck getting back will be a huge bonus. One of my Top sleeper candidates this season.

Not a lot of competition. Some risk so don't overpay but he could be a low end RB1 this season. A strong hold and buy at the right price. Not a sell candidate.

Agree with this. I still think he sits at the top of the depth chart today.

I want nothing to do with that backfield. I think Mack gets first crack at it but I can see any of the 4 in Indy producing. They haven’t invested heavily in any RB so it’s all a crap shoot behind a bad offensive line. I only see Hines as a COP back. Mack and Wilkins have the closest to 3 down skill sets but don’t see either running away with that job. I think Hines is the safest investment in PPR and think Mack or Wilkins win early down work in camp.

If I have Mack I'm keeping him. If I don't I want the cheapest RB in the back field, which he isn't.

Best case he becomes a two down back and a low end RB2. I'd pay a mid 2nd for him but I worry about his ceiling.

If i owned him, I'd be open to selling for an early to mid 2nd or veteran piece that fills a need. I'd expect him to start the season as the lead to which he may be worth a bit more. If I've got depth though, I'm looking to sell. He and his situation feel like this year's Paul Perkins.

Solid play this season only. They will absolutely draft a high end RB next season now that they’ve addressed some core areas in this year’s draft.

He’s a great sell if you get something in the range of 1.19 or better IMO.

He’s a strong hold for me. He flashed a lot last year behind a pretty beat up o-line. When he was out there he always stood out to me and never understood why he didn’t get more touches. With Kelly and Mewhort back this year and Nelson sliding in at guard, the Colts o-line could be really good this season.

Best RB in that backfield by far. Wilkins is not nearly as talented. Hines should get some passing work, but Mack should easily lead the Colts in touches this season. I'm not understanding some of the above posts saying best case he's a 2 down back. Mack did well in the passing game last year, and is explosive in space. He's clearly, clearly the best RB on the roster, and there is nobody currently on it that should threaten his place as the number 1 back. Wilkins is almost 24, and didn't do anything in college until he was 23 years old, so that doesn't impress me at all. Turbin? LOL. I think he's shown what he is, and that is a borderline rosterable back up player. Marlon Mack put up over 1000 yards every year in college, including as a 19 year old freshman, plus, he's had a year in the Colts system. He's also the better athlete. It's his job to lose. I don't think he's a superstar or anything, OP, but he is clearly the best option they have and they did nothing in the draft other than grab a satellite back in Hines, and a late round serviceable back up in Wilkins. Also, the Colts invested in their OL this year, including grabbing by far the best interior lineman in the draft, which could help the run game a lot.
