Godwin Value Compared to incoming rookies

Postby Perry_Grin13 » Fri May 25, 2018 9:59 pm

I have the 1.12 Pick and likely will be looking at WR with the Top RB mostly gone by that time. Godwin is available, but not sure how he compares to incoming class as this is my first rookie draft.

As a Godwin owner, the only one I’d trade him for is Moore. The poll wouldn’t let me only vote for him.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

Trying to think of where Gallup, Ridley, Sutton, Pettis Washington and even Kirk would slot in on their food chains. I dont understand why Godwin is pegged there for his whole career. Let me ask you where DJax is as an option now? Is he not still the no. 2? 98 targets last year with 50ish catches. Godwin nearly matched his numbers on 20 less catches. IDK though

Thanks everyone for input. I could see Godwin sliding into the WR2 role in tampa with D-jax on back 9 of his career and passing Humphies on depth chart. He also is a year more progressed a position that usually takes 2-4 years to become relevant.

Is Godwin a first round startup pick yet?!?!? Man, the hype is too much for my taste. His lack of obvious role clarity puts him in Anthony Miller territory for me even if he gets the #2 job. I’m not sure Jameis is a lock to support multiple fantasy WR starters. We shall see. I liked Godwin for a while but I feel like his value has gotten a bit high. Great time to sell if I owned him. I’d trade him for a first in a heartbeat.

In a recent PPR start-up, 3 rookies went before Godwin (Moore, Ridley and Kirk). Moore is the only one I would trade him for.
