Ingram for Mack Package

Postby Deloyshus » Wed May 23, 2018 3:32 pm

Team 3 in my sig. Trying to win the 'ship two years in a row. Was offered Mack, the 2.7, 2.9, and the 3.1 for Mark Ingram. I am high on Ingram and low on Mack, but the 4 game suspension doesn't help. I don't have any picks. Is the package worth trading Ingram for with my team in win now? Thanks,

I lean towards taking the package. Mack is worth a low 1st by himself. You need RB depth, but given uncertainty over Ingram after this year, I would take the package.

Mack is not worth a late first at all....dude isn't even for sure the starter  there is a better chance Ingram has more fantasy relevant seasons at the age of 28/29 than Mack does at 23...

Following ADP, mack is going at the point of a late 1st round pick...

It is baffling that people would rather take a shot on a 3.9 YPC rb thats in a RBBC at best and not even relevant at worst over any of the top 8 RB rookies or top 6 WR rookies.

If you're evaluating him based on ypc then you might think so but I wouldn't do it that way. Mack's film from last season looks pretty impressive. It's not as though the Colts added anyone significant. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him get a minimum of 200 touches and probably closer to 250. I have little issue if people like some of the RBs from this class more but not the WRs. Certainly not 6 of them.

Did you watch his highlights? His highlights are incredible and I admit he is explosive when he gets a nice hole but thats not the whole story. He has had the highest percentage of any RB to get stuffed at or behind the line of scrimmage. He can't consistently gain yards in the NFL and thats not going to work for a lead back. He just doesn't have the skill set to be a workhorse. a solid receiving RB and maybe 100 carries but no way mack gets 200 carries.

Mack gets hated on so much on these forums. I think he has a chance but I think I'd still take the Ingram side. If that 3.01 were a mid 2nd I'd take the Mack side.

That's what he's going for everwhere I have seen. He's a starting RB that's 22 years old and flashed as a rookie, not hard to see why.

I think the Colts disagree, and that's what matters. He's in line to be their lead back, and they drafted an interior lineman with a top 6 pick, as they obviously feel their OL is an issue. Quentin Nelson will help tremendously in this regard. Not a Mack truther by any means, but he's been a lead back in college, and the Colts not really addressing the position with much other than a scat back in Hines suggests they are going to give him the ball quite a bit this year. Not really sure how you can say he's in a RBBC AT BEST. He's in a RRBC at worst. He's easily the top back on their roster, so not hard to see why he'll get the most touches in that backfield by quite a bit.

That's as much on the offensive line than on Mack. I think Barry Sanders (no, Mack is not Sanders...) led the league every season in tackles for loss. I'm trying to find this data somewhere (on Mack) as I'm interested to see it in context of other players.

I fear a lot of people will be dismissive and ultimately he'll have a sophomore season much the way Gordon went from year one to year two... And he (Gordon) was not nearly as impressive his rookie season with some highlight runs.

It's rather interesting to me that there are so many fans of Foreman on this forum yet don't see an even better talent in Mack. Foreman was a dropped for very little over and over again before breaking off a run here or there. Mack's highlights are much better and he can catch, whereas Foreman is a liability in the receiving game.
