What's next? Specifically 1.2 and 1.6. (update 5/23)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What's next? Specifically 1.2 and 1.6. (update 5/23)

Postby NWABCS » Tue May 22, 2018 10:01 am

Second time poster, long time lurker. Team and details in signature.

I've been in this dynasty league for 3 years since it's inception. I've made the championship game two of three years and lost both. My team is stacked, IMO. I have picks 1.2, 1.6, and 2.11. Guice seems to be the pick at 1.2 but I was thinking maybe going with Baker Mayfield. The 1.5 owner seems to be all in on Baker, so I know I won't get him at 1.6. 2.11 I'll go BPA. I could go Guice at 1.2 and Rosen or Darnold at 1.6.

I shot an offer of Carr, Watkins, and 1.6 for AA-Ron Rodgers but got shot down. I figured why not go big but that didn't happen.

Suggestions? Advice? Comments?

I would go Baker at 1.02 and BPA at 1.06, either your favorite RB or another QB. Honestly, you could trade out of 1.06 depending on what happens. Wouldn't hurt to throw a WR on your roster, but 1.06 is probably too early for a WR in SF.

Yeah. You don't need Guice. You could go Baker at 1.02 and then try to trade back with the 1.06. Trade back enough to take Moore or Ridley.

I might be in the minority here, but I actually wouldn't go that route.

I would take Mayfield at 1.02, and then another QB at 1.06. I think QB is your weakest spot. You have studs at RB and at WR. I don't have either one of your starting QB's in the top 12 of my dynasty rankings for QB. I would take Mayfield, and whoever you like best of whoever hasn't been taken at QB at 1.06.

I was originally going Guice at 1.2 and QB at 1.6.

The more I think about it, the more I like Mayfield and Rosen/Darnold. I like all 3 of those guys.

The Cousins owner messaged me about 5 minutes ago looking to move him for Carr and "pieces". No clue what that means but that might change my draft slightly.. maybe not.

At the end of the round, two or three teams are looking to go QB (Darnold or Rosen).

If I end up with two QBs, that may not happen.

At that point, I may just offer my 2.11 and 1 next year to draft Moore or Ridley.

I'd probably hold on to the first next year. Think the WR class for 2019 is suppose to be better.

I think Mayfield, and then Darnold/Rosen at 1.06 is a good way to go. Outside of Brown and Hilton, your team is really young, so you have a big window to compete for the next several years.

I prefer Rosen and Darnold to Baker, so I'd go Guice and then whoever is left between the two at 1.06. But if you're high on Baker and think he's the best QB in this year's draft, then take him at 1.02. And to be honest, I might even take another QB at 1.06 even if you took Baker at 1.02 and try to trade one of your proven QBs for a stud WR or package two QBs for an upgrade at QB.

I may not have to worry about 2.11.

I have an offer out for 2.11 and Sammy Watkins for 1.10

If that gets done, I just go BPA at 1.10 but learning to RB or WR.

Sammy is worth more than the 1.10 by himself, let alone adding the 2.11. I personally think the difference between Baker and the other QB's is greater than the difference between Guice and Penny/Michel that you'll probably be able to snag at 1.06. Keep Sammy, 24 and just became the 3rd highest paid WR in the NFL. Dude has some SERIOUS talent just had 2 years of unfortunate foot injuries.
