Any further moves?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Any further moves?

Postby NFL123 » Sun May 20, 2018 12:29 pm

Made a lot of changes over the off season and wondering if anyone would recommend further changes.

Current starting line up
Brees
Elliott
Barkley
Ajayi
Beckham
M Thomas
D Thomas
Burton

Main backups
QB: Luck (may change with Brees depends on health), Jackson, Darnold
RB: Burkhead, C Clement
WR: Dez, Kirk, A Miller, J Matthews
TE: ASJ

Picks in 2019: 3rd and 5th. Traded away 1st, 2nd,4th.

I feel my starting line-up makes me a contender but my bench is weak, plus no 1st or 2nd picks next year adds to the pressure to do well this year.

Any suggestions for any moves I could make? For example, should I think about trading any of the studs to become better all round?

Keep your studs, I'd consider making a move for a better TE. Even getting a guy like Delanie Walker or Greg Olsen for a 1 year rental on the cheap would be extremely valuable for your team to win this year. I like burton a lot but I wouldn't want him to be a starter until I've seen him do something with a full time role.

Thanks for your advice. TE definitely depends on Burton as things stand, putting a lot of faith in him. The guys you mentioned would be good targets, I feel like I need to be in win now mode, especially with my lack of picks next year.

Ideally I would try to pick up an experienced WR for backup who could put up some points, depending on where Dez lands.

I had thought about shopping Ajayi and Burkhead to try and upgrade at RB. Is that sensible or stay put with these guys as they could both at least start the season as their teams starting RBs on very good offenses.

Burkheads production will probably outproduce his trade value so I'd keep him. Personally I'm a bit low on Ajayi so if you could get a guy like Penny or Michel for him I'd do that in a heart beat. Dez is a dead WR walking....if you want to target a older WR go for Larry, he will only play for 1 year so his price should be pretty cheap but he'll be a backend WR1 once again this year

I’d strongly consider putting Barkley on the block and just see some offers from people with his going rate.
