Bell or DJ

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Bell or DJ

Postby Philly Special » Tue May 15, 2018 9:59 am

Which is better for the long term?

Similar age, but Bell has been in the league since 2013 vs DJ 2015 and DJ didnt play in 2017.

I'd take DJ.

- No significant injuries (a dislocated wrist may have knock him out for 2017 but it's nothing tbh)
- Saint of a man, Bell is always on about something (hold out, weed, rap career, etc.) Bell just seems like a headache to own
- Bell has taken a lot more punishment so far

For this year Bell but I like DJ more long term. Arizona is not as good an offense as the Steelers but seems to be less uncertainty going forward with their QB situation and RB contract. Also, Bell is the more likely to be suspended for something.

I prefer DJ to Bell long term because he has less mileage on his body. I would take DJ over Bell if all of Bell's off the field stuff didn't exist.

This. Almost a thousand more career NFL touches for Bell vs DJ. DJ is one of the last players in the NFL I would ever worry about any off the field issues.

I get the mileage thing, but I think Bell relies less on his physical talents and more on being patient and smart. Whereas, I'm not sure DJ will continue to be as productive once he begins aging and losing some of his physical abilities. Either way, there's no wrong answer and both should be pretty even.

I'm going with DJ because I own him.
Seriously though, I'd say those two are ultimately even. You can pick who you like I can't distinguish them. I also don't buy into the "mileage" argument against Bell, he seems to be holding up pretty darn well.

The evenness of the replies show you how close in value they are, but I'm taking the guy with 1,000 fewer touches, no lower extremity injuries and no suspension clouds looming. I know, rich for me to say as a DJ owner.

QB: Luck $22, Jameis $1, Mariota $1

long term DJ, but the next 2 o 3 yrs is Bell. And in this game I'm only worried about the next 2 to 3 yrs, so much can change that its hard to have a 5 yr outlook of your team... so I rather Bell

Even, If I were trading for 1 of them I'd go for bell for the immediate value, who knows which will will last longer, they are both the same age and so much can happen. Both are absolute studs but if you are making a trade for one with the other nothing should be added at all to one side or the other.

I think you mean 2 month age difference.
