L. Bell for 1.07+ veto worthy?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

L. Bell for 1.07+ veto worthy?

Postby dipANDglide » Sun May 13, 2018 8:39 pm

12 tm, ppr

We had a new owner join and the following trade went thru:

New owner gave: L. Bell

Old owner gave: 1.07, 2.07, 2.12, 3.02, 4.03

I'm not one to bring these kinds of things up but this is bad. The new owner is likely green after making a trade like that. Thoughts?

Better screening process may be necessary. Yikes. First move this guy made? It's a terrible trade. Is collusion suspected?

This was the first move. I don't see collusion being in play here. This is more a question of where to draw the line with vetoing. It's a terrible trade that puts us all at a huge disadvantage.

I agree that better screening was necessary...don't put a novice in a league of vets...this is in the by laws of most of my leagues:
However, if any trades appear to be unfair (obvious collusion or damaging the integrity of the league), the commissioner may ask the league owners to vote whether or not to void the transaction

we have never had to put this into action, but replacement owners have years of experience....perhaps you need to point that team to this forum for advice...

good luck..

I get annoyed at a lot of trades that happen in my league but none of them would enrage me like this trade if i saw it happen, this is simply not fair to the person giving Bell away and it is not fair for everyone else either...This should be at least brought up to the league. You can't blame the guy who got Bell for that cheap but damn that would be worrisome for all future trades as well regarding the new owner.

Unfotunate for the returning owners, and this type of trade happens way too often imo. Both new and existing owners.

My beef always is how much it bumps the team receiving the stud in return... But im not sure you can do anything about it. Some feel 2-8 are the same. How would you feel if it weré 2 instead of 7?

If the owner is NEW to dynasty completely I would talk with them, giving them a little info about value and things as such. I would allow them to decide if they want to reverse this trade but notify them this will be the ONLY time they will get a trade reversed ever.

If however they say they have dynasty experience then I'd morning offer any recourse but make fun of him so badly until they realize the error of their ways

This seems like the best compromise because sometimes people need to learn the hard way, but as the commish of a league I know how it hurts to see a team get completely deplited by an incompetent owner knowing next year you'll have to convince someone to take that hot piece of garbage team over.

Am I the only one that does not have a big deal with this trade? Other owner gets a ton of picks and his (or her) team might be in rebuilding mode. I would let it fly even though the team getting Bell got the better end
14 Tm ppr (rebuilding)
QB Wentz, Carr, MacJ
RB Mixon, Ty'son, Gaskin, McKinnon, Coleman, David Johnson, Freeman, Darrel Williams, J.Patrick, Ahmed, Dobbins, Hasty
WR Hopkins, T.Patrick, E.Moore
TE Jarwin, Ertz, Knox, Tremble
Picks: 22 (1,1,1,2,2,3) 23 (1,1,1,2,2,3)

12 Tm .5 ppr
QB Stafford, Hurts, MacJ, KMond

TE Fant, Knox, Doyle, Allie-Cox

12 Tm SF, TE+, ppr
QB Ryan, Winston, Mills, Minshew, Tua
RB Gordon, Carson, Harris, Hunt, Duke, D'Ernest, Dillon
WR Jefferson, Boyd, Ruggs, Davis, Parker, Hamler, Robby, Miller, E.Moore, Rodgers, Tre'Quan
TE Hooper, Conklin, Jarwin, Doyle, JuwanJ

14 Tm ppr
QB Stafford, Bridgewater, Fields
RB Hines, Harris, R.Jones, Murray, Freeman, J,Kelley, Hasty

Meh.

Id like to see the rest of the roster before I called this just a poor trade or a trade worthy of a veto discussion.

Youre going to see poor trades, period. Gurley for ebron and two lates 2019 1sts happened in another thread I just looked at, thats worse than this.
main league, half PPR, all TDs 6, -3 for INT
12 team. 2019 champ, 2020 runner up, ‘21 3rd
start 2SF, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2WRT

QB: T Lawrence, K Cousins, R Wilson, Z Wilson
RB: K Walker, T Ettiene, JK Dobbins, D Gore, J Hasty, D Johnson, L Rountree
WR: JJ, AJB, A Cooper, Juju, C Kirk, J Dotson, N Westbrook-Ikhine, I McKenzie
TE. T Kelce, Pitts, Albert O, D Parham, J O’Shaunessy

If the rules allow for a veto, then yeah, veto. If they don't, then I guess you need to make rule to help cure for a problem like this.
