Did I do well or nah? :)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Did I do well or nah? :)

Postby RS_Smoove » Sat Apr 28, 2018 10:09 pm

Alright. I've had a couple post about AJ Green. Some deals fell through. I finally made a trade. It's a 10 team league. I traded AJ Green and 3.05 this year for 1.02 and 2.05 this year. With my roster, I was trying to cash in on someone like Green before its too late. Was this fair value? Did I do well or did I get fleeced? It always hard trading proven talent for prospects.

Anyway, thanks for any feedback.

I'd say nah. You have no clear needs and don't know who will be available at the pick to know if you like that prospect better than AJ. This looks like a trade just to trade. You'd have been better off waiting to trade him to a WR deficient team with playoff dreams midseason. Probably could have gotten his 2019 1st and a couple prospects that were known commodities.

I like it. You should get a rb that will be score more than ajg by years end. This is probably the last year you could get that for him.

It wasn't a trade just to trade for me. I was looking to cash in on Green before it was too late. I was already getting lowball offers because of his age. Since my team doesn't have a lot of needs, I felt like this was a perfect time to move someone like Green to get younger.

You'll get younger. But will you get better?

With some guys as they age I resign myself to riding them into the sunset when I can't get the return I'm looking for. AJG is still going to produce for a few more years, but hopefully you hit on the 1.02.

I like the value but think it hurt your team for the short term. If Mixon and/or McKinnon really step up this year, I think you'll be fine. If they don't and you lose Green's production you might have lost yourself a championship... ok, that's extreme. You've got a great looking team to win now.

I have Green in one league and probably would not move him for that but can't blame you and think it's a very fair return
