Startup draft done- Early analysis

Postby keebs3 » Mon Apr 23, 2018 11:22 pm

Recently finished a startup devy league and I'm curious what everything things. How did I do? What do you see as the biggest need for this team?

Superflex 12 team league. QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/FLEX/SF. PPR- RB .5 WR 1 TE 1.5

Thanks all, I'd love any advice or early analysis on the team.

I don’t play superflex, but here’s my thoughts:

QB
You look pretty strong here, especially if Luck manages to return to form this year. Sucks that Brady and Tyrod share the same bye week, but if Rudolph is starting by week 11, you should be fine. The nightmare scenario would obviously be if he isn’t a starter by then and Luck is still out. But still, it’s only one week, and this is dynasty.

RB
This is your most worrisome position. Lenny is a decent RB1, but I’d be scared to rely on Miller or Collins as my RB2. Both seem to have a very tenuous grip on their starting jobs, and strangely enough, they also share the same bye week.

WR
AB, Landry and Cooks give you a nice trio to roll out every week. Crabtree, Goodwin, Binge and Westbrook give you some solid depth for bye weeks or (god forbid) if Cooks winds up in Goff purgatory like Sammy did last year. This definitely seems like your deepest position.

TE
I loves me some Njoku, but I think he’s still a year away from being a plug & play every-week starter. Hopefully Walker can hold off Jonnu Smith for one more year to be that bridge TE until Njoku is ready to light it up.

Devy
Not familiar enough with most of these guys to give an informed opinion. Tua obviously looked fantastic in the NCG, but one half of football is an admittedly small sample size. As a lifelong Colorado Buffaloes fan, I’m all too familiar with Khalil Tate. :x  Too early to say if he can be an NFL QB, but at the very least, he could be an intriguing prospect at WR or RB.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

I like the team coming out of the startup. I think you need some help at both wr and rb if your going to be a favorite. I like your guys.....I just worry about what your going to get from them. a couple guys have new homes...and you don't have solid options behind them in your format.

I like the devy picks...but although your in a superflex league....I would rarely use a devy on a qb unless this dude was very very very very very highly touted. there are just so many factors when it comes to winning 1 of 32 jobs in the world....why waste the roster spots.

Solid team that should compete this year. You have some older guys on the roster that'll you'll need to replace at some point, but should be fine for the next couple of years.

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree that RB is my biggest opportunity. I've been debating trying to swap a WR for a solid RB but I prefer WR depth with these settings.

The main reason I went big on Devy QB's was my risk factor with Luck along with Brady's age. I figured I needed some dart throws incase my QB situation collapses altogether this year.
