*TRADE COMPLETE* Bell, Diggs, 2.01 for Julio, Freeman, Gronk, 3.06, '19 1

Postby Mkh3225 » Mon Apr 23, 2018 4:07 pm

(For Team 1 in sig)
Ok everyone, so I know I’ve been blowing up the forum with Bell trades, but I’ve received an interesting counter from the guy I’ve been negotiating with over the last few days… So, were both contenders and both have a lot of substantial assets. He’s been trying to get Bell from me over the last month and yesterday I sent him the trades I posted before which he rejected, and today he countered with this:

Get: Julio, Freeman, Gronk, 3.06, ’19 1 (probably late), ’19 3 (again late)
Give: Bell, Diggs, 2.01, 2020 2

I’m not interested in trading 2020s right now (as it requires me to pay for that year and I don’t think that’s worth doing for a 2020 2), so I was thinking of countering with this:

Get: Julio, Freeman, Gronk, 3.06, '19 1
Give: Bell, Diggs, 2.01

I didn’t anticipate on shopping Diggs; I’m a big fan, but idk… this value seems pretty fair and could improve my team overall. Not to mention I have a potential deal lined up should I make this trade where I could send the ’19 1 and 3.06 for 1.10… So what do you all think? Is this a trade that’s worth doing, one I should pass on, or one I should revise again? The player I'm trading with also has Foreman, Keenan Allen, Allen Robinson, and 1.09 but has so far been hesitant to include them in our deal but wanted to mention them in case anyone has a good counter to propose. Again, I do want to thank everyone who’s given me feedback in my previous posts on this subject as I highly value the community’s opinion so many thanks for helping me out!

I think I'd rather keep Bell and Diggs, but it's close.

Thanks Goddard, ya it's close for me too, big Diggs fan but I'm gonna send it... I'm confident in my thinking that there's not really a loser here and TE literally cost me a shot at the championship last year so that is an experience I wish to never have to endure again...

I would say Diggs and Freeman cancel each other out. You said the 2019 would be late so I think it is close enough to cancel the 2.01 out. I'm going to throw out the 3.06 since all things considered already involved its value is pretty negligible

This leave Bell for Julio and Gronk. I'd say the return is decent, but you have to like Julio and believe Gronk will play past the 2018 season.

I think I would stick with Bell and the younger Diggs.

The thing is, I love Diggs but the fact that he's literally always banged up is a source of frequent frustration. Such as last year where he would just absolutely light it up, then get nicked up and miss at least 3 games and be noticeably less than 100% in another 3. I understand Julio is significantly older but Julio doesn't exactly seem like he's itching for retirement, though after Megatron you never really know anymore... Of course, there are the whole Gronk retirement rumors but I see him playing at least 2 or 3 more seasons... So, I'd say 2-3 years of Gronk put to bed any worries I had at TE while I wait for Jonnu to develop since I can't rely on Olsen like you could have in the past, up and we already know the deal with Reed.... Like I said, there doesn't seem to be a "loser" here so if he accepts then thats fine and if he doesn't then I'm totally fine with Bell for another year too.

Julio is getting up there and gronk is ready to just about call it. Bell and diggs should be fine for another 3/4 years. Freeman and the pick are nice but I'd stay put.

Bell is the best RB in the game if not the best overall talent, but I'm going with Julio here pretty handily. My breakdown is like this:

Bell > Freeman
Julio > Diggs
Gronk >> 2.01
Maybe that much can be argued to be even but the 1st round pick is coming free.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I guess the overwhelming question for me is what scenario do you think is best to win this year? Shady is pretty much untradable for me as I know I can't get what I'd want for him or what would help me continue to contend so I know I need to win with the players I have now and get a bit fortunate on some of my bench guys, many of whom I do feel pretty strongly about. I lost last year despite Bell's monster week 14 performance against my Ravens because Greg Olsen laid a big ol' goose-egg and I ended up losing by like 1.6 points. Not to mention, a position I felt was one of my biggest strengths going into the year (TE) ended up being a weekly nightmare. Even if Gronk has only 2 years left I think if he's classic Gronk it's a huge win and I might even be able to shop Reed and Olsen more confidently than I could before because I know Jonnu and Gathers are still probably another year from being reliable.

Not to mention... rooting for Bell at M&T Bank Stadium in December is a always just a litttle awkward..... :shifty: Haha not saying that's a reason to trade him or anything but it sure makes those gamedays excruciating! I personally think while losing the points from Bell hurts a bit; overall I'm going to get more points collectively from those 3 than Bell and Diggs will give me. Of course, he hasn't accepted yet so it may be for naught anyway at which case I'll prepare to roll with Bell and Diggs again as currently planned haha.

i cant believe people are voting for the bell side of this. its as if Freeman hasnt been a top 5 back 2 of the past 3 seasons...or that julio doesnt have 4 straight 1400 yard seasons, or that Gronk isn't the most dominant TE to ever play the game.....or that there isnt a real chance Bell misses significant time

Same here man but I'm telling you, people love their stud RBs, myself included. Still, an offer like this seemed too good to pass up, he hasn't accepted yet but the offer I have out is currently:

Give: Bell, Diggs, 2.01
Get: Freeman, Julio, Gronk, 1.09, 3.06

If he rejects I'll counter with initial deal he sent me which was a 19 1 instead of 1.09 this year but wanted to see if I could get the late pick in the deeper RB draft this year than in the deeper WR draft next year, which is a position I'm already strong at. Thanks again for all the input guys!

Trade officially complete if anyone was curious if it got done... I'm definitely very satisfied even though it always hurts giving up a Stud like Bell and a great young player who I really, really like in Diggs but overall I think this makes my team a smidge better. Thanks again everyone for your feedback!

Julio = Diggs + 2.01
Freeman + Gronk + 1.09 > Bell

I'd take the Julio by a little, but it's close depending on how much you like Diggs.

Thanks man! He wouldn't go for the 1.09 but he did give me his 2019 1... which I subsequently traded along with the 3.06 I got for 1.10. I was hoping for the 1.09 but I didn't want to lose the deal when I was still going to be given a 1 of some variety anyway. Also, I decided to trade for the 1.10 because I think this year is a much deeper RB draft than next year and I'm already pretty stacked at WR. The 3 wasn't too hard to give up as my roster will already be full after the first draft pick and most of the guys on my team right now I'd rather have than the guys I could've (probably) gotten at the 3.06.
