I think Mariota has the higher upside, but also the lower floor (which we arguably saw last year). If your other QB position is solid and you can afford to gamble a little, I like Mariota.

I think it's pretty close. I agree that JG probably has the higher upside, but I think Mariota might be safer.

I'd take Garoppolo over Mariota.

For me, this is easily Jimmy G. He has shown quite a lot in his handful+ of games to show he is more than capable. The Shanahan connection doesn't hurt either.
Mariota has looked like a mid level QB in the NFL. I don't see that changing. I feel like the odds that he all of a sudden becomes a top level QB are pretty slim.

That's where I'm at. I proposed it and it was accepted. I was curious to hear your thoughts as it seemed like a good trade getting Jimmy. Mariota seems like more of a high end QB2 than QB1. Jimmy while not having a huge sample has looked the part of a QB1.
