1QB vs 2Qb/Superflex Rookie Rankings?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1QB vs 2Qb/Superflex Rookie Rankings?

Postby cd6696 » Fri Apr 20, 2018 12:42 am

Where do you have this years QBs on your rookie boards in 1QB vs 2QB? It's interesting to see where they will go with so many guys touted to go early in the NFL draft and some solid RB talent at the top of most rookie boards.

in 1qb, maybe somewhere mid to late 2nd...In Sflex/2QB right behind the 1.02, and I could see the argument for taking a QB over Guice at 1.02

1QB, round 3 if I already have a starter. Superflex, round 1. Every league is different though and if it's an established league, look at the last several rookie drafts. Should give you an idea of where QBs will go in this year's draft.

I've said all along that I wouldn't blame anyone for taking a QB at 1.02 in 2QB/SF leagues this year. If not 1.02, I don't see any other RB past Barkley and Guice that would warrant going ahead of the top 2 QBs in that setting.

As for 1QB leagues, it would really depend on the team. If a team needs a better backup or even starter, then I can see taking one mid/late 2nd.

In SF/2QB leagues, I'd expect the top 4 QBs should be off the board by 1.08 at the latest. I wouldn't blame anyone for taking their favorite of the group at the end of the 1st round, though most likely they won't start going until the 2nd.

Late second in a 1QB. In a superflex, I agree. Sitting at 1.09 I don't anticipate the top 4 or possibly 5 available. Superflexes are sweet in that you can win a league and still get some great pieces from those who are QB poor. I think Rosen, Mayfield, Jackson, and Darnold go between 1.03 and 1.08 (4 of those 6 picks). Which leaves 1.09 and 1.10 to get top 5ish talent...and makes your early seconds worth so much more...SuperFlex takes so much more strategy than regular ole' dynasty.
QB: Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Tannehill
RB: Jordan Howard, Mark Ingram, Jay Ajayi, D'Onta Foreman
WR: Mike Evans, Brandin Cooks, Jarvis Landry, Robert Woods
TE: Travis Kelce, OJ Howard

I don't personally adjust my rankings much between the 2. I personally try trading for a proven qb rather than drafting one with an early pick if Im looking qb in sf or 2qb leagues.

mentioned above is that draft values are somewhat league dependant, also factoring in is how your qb situation is. I'm not a fan of taking qb because that's where the perceived value is. value fluctuates all the time....most don't draft a qb and then sell him. it just doesn't seem to work like that. if you have a surplus, we often times look to sell the older qb's...and many times the "value" simply is not there.

Ehhhh... last couple years I've taken the BPA and ended up with Mahomes and Wentz i don't think there are many players you could get as high a value increase over Wentz. That also allowed me to trade other "proven" QBs to teams that needed them, if I have 1.3 and above I'm definitely considering a QB even if I have 4/5 rostered - they are just too valuable in superflex.

1.08 is about what I'm thinking. 1.10 if you wanna go five deep at QB.

All this talk of 4 QBs by 1.08 makes me nervous as I'm sitting at 1.09...

There is some good info here on this topic. I would like some advice on the same thing but for the team in my sig. As you can see there are only 10 teams and we must start 3 rbs. Does this change some opinions?

You're adding Barkley to that RB group and with Lewis and White on different teams now, you should be adequately covered during bye weeks for fill-ins. 1.07 is the perfect spot to take a QB, but then I'd look for a deal that swaps that value for a WR.
