CMC

Postby Eagles10 » Thu Apr 19, 2018 11:04 am

It seems like not many people on here like Mccaffrey. I'm curious on why. I was offered Hyde and 1.11 for CMC. My initial thought is no way. The more I read on everyone's thoughts makes me unsure. The guy still wants Mccaffrey. If I were to offer him
Case Keenum, CMC, and my 4.07
For his
Mahommes, Hyde, and the 1.11
Would that be a decent trade?

Ppr, I like him. Otherwise I am luke warm on him. I do expect 10 ppg from him in a non ppr format..which is good for a flex spot or bye fill in.

I like him as a low end RB1 in theory but the loss of Andrew Norwell plus the possibility of them drafting an early down back highly is a big deal for him. After we see their draft, it will cement CMC's value, for better or worse. Right now you would be selling in the middle, I personally did that. I do think that the above trade is bad value, both the original one and your proposed trade. I'd want at least 2 firsts, one early to mid and one mid to late, and that would be selling on the cheaper end.

Gettleman is gone. He's just a pass catching back now. Once they add a RB in the top three rounds his value will diminish quickly.

There just aren't many (any?) pass catching specialists that have been consistent fantasy RB1's, but McCaffrey is very much being valued as a RB1.

His rookie season, which most see as great, was really no better than what Theo Riddick did a few years back. Outside of the Saints, no other teams really seem willing to feed a CoP back 80 receptions over the long haul, especially when the efficiency is only mediocre (as it was for McCaffrey).

When McCaffrey came out there was hope that he'd be more than just a CoP back, but that ship seems to be sailing, and maintaining his current value as a CoP back is going to be very difficult as the receiving volume likely regresses.

That said, he's easily worth more than Hyde+1.11. But I would take an early rookie pick over him no question.

Seems like a PPR lock, but I have a hard time seeing is usage ever go up from what it was last year. I like him as a high floor, but low ceiling. A rebuilding team in my league flipped Davante Adams for him last season...I would prefer Adams probably in either scenario.

I think he still has value, but it's all about waiting for the right owner. I'd sit tight, but continue to put feelers out.

I like him fine, but I think last year's production was around where his ceiling will be (which isn't a bad thing). He's not a very good runner and wasn't very efficient in the passing game. 611 yards on 75 catches is worse than Landry's yards per catch, who every kills for having poor efficiency. I realize RBs don't usually run the same routes as WRs, but CMC was basically used as a WR most of the season. Either way, as long as he gets those targets, he'll be a low-end RB1 in ppr. Just don't see the huge upside compared to some other RBs that he's frequently compared to.

CMC > Hyde/1.11.

At 1.11, you're looking at a 2nd/3rd tier RB/WR or the top TE. Either way, you're probably going to be waiting a year on production.

You can get more for CMC. I sold him in a PPR league for the 1.03 and Golden Tate. Don't know the settings of your league though
