Evans or Elliot

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

In a vacuum - Evans for me but simply because I prefer the longevity of WRs.

In ppr it's close, and I might lean towards Evans. I tend to agree with Phaded about preferring WRs due to longevity, but Zeke is 2 years younger and I'm not sure bigger WRs like Evans last as long in the NFL due to lower body injuries. Take Calvin for example. Every time he caught the ball, DBs would just go right at his legs because they can't tackle him by just wrapping him up. I wouldn't be surprised if they both played the same number of seasons from here on out at a high level.

Elliot.

Evans was replaceable last year. I'm down on him though.

Zeke. I'm a little lower on Evans.

I concur with this. I sold off Evans for Adams.

Much of Evans tape last year was catch and go down.

While YAC is a fair concern if you look at just the statistics - from watching the tape, you should be able to see that Evans is very rarely put in a situation where YAC is a viable option. He often has to high point balls that are above his head and with those types of catches - YAC does not tend to happen very often. Very similar to a guy like Hopkins in that regard.

^ No doubt. My being down on Evans has to do in part with his YAC but I also think the situation as far as weapons around him has changed

What I mean is that when Evans and Winston came into the league it seemed like a situation where Evans was clearly the best target on the team. You had a declining VJax and not much else if my memory serves, correct if wrong please.

So Evans was with a young QB and was arguably the best deep threat on the team, best redzone threat on the team ect

Fast forward.

There are many red zone threats on the team. BRate is proven and Howard is coming on.

As far as deep threats, Djax may not have much left, but he's a better pure deep speed threat.

I might argue Godwin has a more well rounded game as he seems more suited to pickup YAC and work other areas of the field.

PPG:
Zeke: RB3, RB3
Evans: WR20, WR3, WR26, WR13

How is this even a discussion? Zeke is a difference maker whenever he's on the field. Evans is a nice WR2 or a low end WR1 that is typically losing points to your oppontent's WR1. Zeke is one of those studs that win championships, Evans is a nice complement to a team that has studs winning them championships elsewhere.

Zeke for me but it's close. I think you could get more for Zeke than Evans, so that's why I lean that way.

Zeke for me but I think it’s close because like others have said, WRs tend to last longer. I actually think Evans is due for a bounce back season, not that last season was terrible but I’m expecting better numbers for him this season.
