New Orphan team- what to do with RBs?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

New Orphan team- what to do with RBs?

Postby UsualSuspects » Sun Apr 15, 2018 2:03 pm

2nd team in signature- haven't even got all the IDP in my signature yet.

Just took over a team over the weekend and am trying to decide what to do with my RBs. The league is heavy IDP and only uses 8 offensive spots. 1qb, 1-2RB, 2-4WR, 1-2TE, and 1Kicker. 11 IDP spots.

I have
QBs- Wilson
RBs- DJ, Mixon, Lamar Miller, and the 1.01
WRs- not much at all!
TEs- Ertz and Engram

Trying to trade Mixon or Miller for 1st round picks or top young WRs.

Seems to be my best right? What should I am for?

Any insight appreciated...then I can dive into the mess at IDP on the roster.

Why trade mixon? If you don't like him then sure, I guess, but he's a guy I'd look to build around along with 1.01 and your TEs. I'd be looking to sell DJ and miller for picks or prospects. Realistically you're a couple years off from competing so sell those two while you can.

I'd be looking to trade DJ and Miller if i were you. Keep Mixon/Barkley sounds like a nice start to a rebuild and if you could get something like Adams or Cooks+2nd for DJ that would be ideal. Might also try to pair Miller/Ertz and go for another WR but thats just me personally I am high on Engram.

I would agree with the others.

QB = fine
RB = flip Miller and DJ (Maybe hold him until first good game. Then people will be like ohh, he once had a steller Season.
Te = you got 2 good. Maybe a owner will offer you a really good WR for one of them.

Trades i would look up;

DJ and Miller for Hopkins.
Miller for D'onta
Miller + for Kupp
DJ for J. Jones
DJ for Corey D. + 1.02-1.04

Definitely hang onto Mix if youre in rebuild mode.

Try and flip Lamar Miller for anything of substance immediately. I would hang onto DJ unless you can get a killer offer for him. If youre a true believer in Barkley fair enough, but I would at least entertain the possibility of moving 1.1 If I were you, just post that its available and see what comes back, people seem willing to trade outlandish things for the 1.1 at this point.

I'd be looking to move DJ, Wilson, Jordy, Miller, and Ertz... only if you want a true rebuild. I don't know enough about IDP and how much that's impacting your title chances.

I'd potentially try to tank for one more year and accumulate picks for 2019. The WR class is supposed to be strong.

Get an absolute haul for DJ. Get a young WR plus picks. Sell Wilson, it's a 12 team league so you can find another QB. I love Ertz, but you have Engram and can get a great deal for him. Miller and Jordy are just older bum guys I don't want on a rebuild roster. Get anything for them. I'd also move JoGo for something safer.

If you want to compete, you might not be that far off. Your offence is pretty set since you only have to start 2 WRs. Hope JoGo is real and move DJ or the 1.01 for a package to get an elite WR and fill holes in your defence. I'd still move Wilson for another need and go get a Phil Rivers type. Wilson's value is pretty much at max right now. I'd also move one of Ertz or Engram and fill holes again.

You also have picks 1.10 and 1.11, which should get you some real solid WRs in this class. In general, while there isn't top end WR talent, there seems to be a ton of depth. Your later picks might find some gems if IDP push some of them down.

Your team has great assets to work with. Enjoy the process!

Edit: it's only .5 PPR. I wouldn't worry too much about your WR situation. Your offence looks stellar. I'd go back and look at previous rookie drafts to see where IDP is taken. With it being pretty IDP heavy, the 1.10/1.11 could make sense for defence.. But I honestly have no clue. Still feels early.

What about something like Amari Cooper, Chandler Jones (high end LB), and the 1.06 for David Johnson?
Too much?
Too little?
The team that I would be trading with has Gurley and I am sure would love to pair him up with a back like DJ (he already offered Jordan Howard, Cohen, D Parker, and the 1.06 for the 1.01)

If you want the most value for a player, trade the 1.01. Miller isn't going to get you what you want and Mixon will be dependent on the buyer's value of him, but I doubt you get what he's truly worth. Same with DJ and his current value being down due to missing the season.

I’d put the 1.01 on the trade block and see if you get an offer you can’t refuse. You’ll probably get a lot of not worthy offers, but that’s the most valuable RB you own right now. If not the 1.01, then I’d be looking to push DJ for a nice return. I’d also be looking at what the Foreman owner has, and see if there is something you can trade for with Miller.

So I traded Mixon for Tyreek Hill. Actually have down 4-5 trades with the following results:

Added
Tyreek Hill
Mohammed Sanu
Demarcus Lawrence
Von Miller
KJ Wright
2.12

Subtracted:
Joe Mixon
Pat Mahomes
George Kittle
2.01

I figure that I traded from 3 areas of strength and added to 3 areas of weakness.

I still have 1.01, 1.10, 2.11, 2.12, 3.02

How do you rate the end results???
