Funchess vs. 2019 1st, 2nd, and Treadwell - Desperate for a wr!

12 team ppr league. qb/2rb/3wr/te/flex

This decision is all about a championship. I feel this teams "window" quickly closing in on me.

I sent out a total of 11 offers seeking a wr and only got a bite on this particular trade. Fwiw Funchess was the least valuable wr I targeted.

I have no picks this year and am old at wr and te.

Luck/Dalton
Bell/Gordon/Freeman/Coleman/KC backups/Brieda
Julio/DThomas/Goodwin/TWilliams/Treadwell/Dart(s)
Graham/Trash

I feel as if I don't make a move I ended up wasting my rbs good years. Without a flex wr or wr3 I am simply treading water.

Should I take the plunge? Or slowly decay in mediocrity? Help. Please.... :wall:

I would not trade a first for Funch before the draft as I think they draft someone relatively high, which might drop his value some. I definitely think you're dangerously close to Tread[well]ing water, and you need to find an answer at WR. I'd avoid trading anymore future firsts if you can though, you're team is about to really need them. Maybe look to trade for someone like Fitzy, DJax, Enunwa who should be much cheaper than Funch and should outperform him.

As someone posted above Enunwa is someone that I like this year especially with ASJ gone and RObby Anderson being an idiot. That is not really an over pay or anything for Funchess but at the same time I feel like Funch is their WR2 as I think they will draft someone to replace KB at their WR1 spot with samuel in the slot

Personally, I would move Julio and try to get younger. Like someone mentioned Panthers might draft a WR and that would hurt him, but if you really want Funchess you could try Julio for Funchess plus some picks. Your RB room is still pretty young with Bell and Gordon. Or you could target one of the younger TE's and a pick.

I'm not super high on Julio and think he has 1-3 years left in him.

Funch probably worth a 19 1st...as long as you don’t project that first to be a top 4 or so (if you were rebuilding or something). Funch will get all the volume in 2018...yeah Carolina could draft a WR, and probably will, but which WR in this class is gonna challenge Funch in year 1?

I like funchess but he’s not a guy I see buying for a future first.

Your team is not nearly as old or bad as you seem to be making it out to be, but making this trade will put you on that path. You'll be throwing away future youth infusion for an average asset at best. Guarantee you'll be able to draft a better WR with that 1st next year than Funchess.

He accepted the package plus the KC backups and I got Funchess and Gallman in return.

Like I said I am all in this year. I've made a 1000+ mistakes in FF so far and will continue to do so. Perhaps this gives me the edge I need when I face the better teams in the league.

You could do a lot worse than Funchess as your wr3. It sucks to have no picks though...big time. May my team find power!

Luck
Bell/Gordon/ATL
Julio/DT/Funchess
Graham

It just has to be better than starting Goodwin each week. 2018 "season" flexibility can go a long way.?

Damn me.

I would shop Bell to see what I can get in return. You might be able to get 2 pieces and a pick back that make it worth your while to trade him, keep you competitive this year and give you some youth for the future. I would also look to sell Julio now too as well as others have echoed. I would even make a lateral move in terms of value in order to buy some years of production. A guy like Davante Adams comes to mind. I think Julio is getting close to the edge of a real declining asset that will almost become unmovable.

Play the game to have fin man. If you are enjoying what you are doing who cares if you have no future firsts. You can always get more plus rebuilds are kind of fun too if you ever need to go that route. Enjoy yourself!
