Foreman Value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Foreman Value

Postby Forza_Azzurri » Sun Mar 25, 2018 3:15 pm

Where do you guys value D'Onta Foreman?

If he hadn't been injured, I'd think he's a mid-first round value, but an Achilles injury in particular scares me.

I just traded him and regret it.. I would want a mid to late 1st for him right now , I think there's a chance Hou. lets Miller go before the year and Foreman will skyrocket in value but even if they don't Foreman will take the job by mid season and with that offence he is going to be a monster

He was clearly their best back last year and they don't pick until round 3. I think he'll be a low end RB1 by week 6/7.

I traded him for a mid 2nd and early 2nd, I regret that so a late 1st would be better. Its sounding like Houston is going to let Miller go but only 33% come back to the form they were at before injury. I believe this was the article I read about it then traded him, but I think I could have got more.

With the seriousness of the injury, i can not imagine anyone buying for a mid 1st or even a late 1st. That value might be fine had he remained healthy. Given the strength and depth of this rookie class, I'm not considering Foreman until at least the top 6 backs are off the board, maybe 7 or more depending on landing spot for a couple more. Even then, there is plenty of risk involved since we don't know how healthy he'll be when he returns. Mid 2nd at best.

I think he was being drafted around early/mid 2 last year and that’s where I’d keep him right now

I own Foreman in several leagues but I have a hard time with his value too. Just for perspective though, I got him in a startup, this offseason at 8.01 in a 12 team PPR league. In another 12 team PPR league that I’m in, I traded him and pick 3.02 for K.Drake. I made that trade mainly because I wanted a share of Drake and that was the cheapest that I had come across. Foreman is a wildcard to me, he could end up being the starting RB early on for a high scoring Texans offense or he could be slow coming back from injury and someone else could get the starting gig. It’s hard to say, I personally couldn’t imagine anyone paying a first rounder for him but I could be wrong.

Posted this on another thread. Research (always a few years behind in publishing) stated a year to get back, up to 2 for full recovery. Football players didn't come back well as some other sports. Think it was near 30% never return. However, that used to be the case for ACL too but success is up and recovery time less for both injuries.

Foreman looked like he was going to take over easily last year. I think he can return from this injury since he is younger. Since I own him I'm holding, as far as picks I would want a late first but I know that would never happen.

12 Team PPR| 1QB, 2RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 Super Flex, 2 WRT | 25 Roster | 4 Taxi

QB: Stroud, Murray, Jimmy G
RB: Walker, Bijan Robinson, Pacheco, Charbonnet, Spiller, Abanikanda, Hull

TE: Laporta, McBride, Woods, Turner, Parham

IR:

I'm trying to do a package deal by offering Foreman Burton and the 1.12 for the 1.05 and got laughed at. I think my league mate is either knowledgeable of how apparent it was he was going to take over Miller's job or he must believe theres no way back from that injury. Idk.

Foreman breaks my heart. I tried for so long to pry him from his former owner who sniped him from me late in our auction start up. When he finally gave in I was giving what I projected to be a late 1st acquired in a different trade. Then the injury happens. Then former Foreman owner trades with the original owner of the 1st and demolished him in the trade so badly the projected late 1st ended up the 1.05.
