Luck, AJ Green and 1.10 for 1.01...instantly rejected

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Luck, AJ Green and 1.10 for 1.01...instantly rejected

Postby Mjmart2 » Wed Mar 21, 2018 11:15 am

I had a few beers in me when I sent this off and sober me the next morning thought I offered too much....then I see it was an instant rejection...have I gotten out of touch with reality since Im spending less time researching dynasty and more time at the TBall field with my boy!?!? Im high on Barkley like most everyone else but damn not even a counter offer...I mean I get AJ is maybe not ideal for a rebuild but just thought the value alone is there...am i wrong?

I own the 1.01 and would reject that trade.

You mentioned "I mean I get AJ is maybe not ideal for a rebuild but just thought the value alone is there." When the 1.01's perceived value is so high why would an owner want to take a trade that at best is even to turn it into other pieces. It is much easier for the 1.01 owner to trade the 1.01 for a better rebuild package then to take your trade and turn AJ Green into better pieces for rebuild.

Having said all that I think your offer is low, I would definitely counter if I thought you had pieces that would work better in a rebuild. I tried to look at which team it would be for, but I didn't see 1.10 in any of your sig teams so I am not sure what other pieces I would counter with or help you come up with a better package.

You're not wrong, but the value of the 1.01 has just gotten out of hand. If you're not overpaying by a large amount, you're not getting the pick.

The 1.01 virtually cannot be acquired unless its owner would much rather have a 'proven' talent. Anecdotally i heard serious debates about DJ and Michael Thomas vs. the 1.01 (where id rather have both all day). I honestly believe Barkley's value is not only priced in a this point, but over priced. This could be a good investment, but its more likely to yield a depreciation than a return in my opinion.

luck may never play again - AJ green is obviously very nice but hes no spring chicken and 1.10 is not a sure thing.

1.1 looks to be either a fantasy game changer for years to come as its ceiling and floor being a low end rb1.
1.1 side for me not close

It's at a point where you can expect the owner of the 1.01 to reject every offer. You could send an offer of Zeke+OBJ and get instantly rejected and be told their off season issues are a concern and Barkley is worth more. The demands are just outrageous. Don't even bother. You are far better off with Luck and AJG in your lineup than putting Barkley in it.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

If Luck's shoulder weren't a question then I think that's a fine offer. But since he's still not throwing the football and it's nearing the end of March...

But yes, most people holding 1.01 expect a massive overpay. And unless you've got a hoard of quality draft picks and a stud player to send their way it's probably best to forget the idea altogether.

You are not wrong but this would also be an easy reject for me. I have had a few offers for 1.01 but never countered as really I don't know what it would take to move the pick. If did make a counter, I would ask too much as that is what it would take and no doubt that offer would piss off the other owner so it isn't worth it in the end to even make a counter offer. We see it all the time on this board about people saying it is outrageous what is being asked for 1.01 but all that means is the other team doesn't really want to move the pick and it was in response to a team making an offer or inquiring about the pick.

For me, I believe the value is spot on, but I'm not trading my 1.1 for that. I would move it for a package of some type with a different centerpiece than ajg. I would need a young talent with my plus, plus, plus.

The value of the 1.1 has gotten out of control, people need to remember just a few short years ago they were saying the same thing about Trent Richardson, and look how that turned out. Always remember that these kids have never played in the NFL and there is something to say for proven talent. That being said the value is what it is and I can see turning that down with AJG age and Lucks shoulder.

I appreciate the feedback and understand both sides of the argument...with Luck, I understand the hesitation but thought the biggest vote of confidence for him was when the Colts traded back out of a slot that couldve picked a Top 3QB...dont think they would do that if they thought he was done. Time will tell on that of course...Maybe I should trade my 1.01 w/ Team 3 in my sig if I can get a return like mentioned.

This time last year they though he's be ready by week 1 2017, so I'm not sure what they think holds a ton of value given their track record on the matter.

I have spent my entire off season stoked to take Barkley with my only 1.01 share, now I can't wait to trade it away for an overpay like this. RB's get hurt way too often and have way too short of a shelf life for me to pass on multiple pieces like this
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts

If you think this is an overpay, you haven't been watching what he's being traded for. My buddy just completed a trade sending 1.01 and Agholor for 1.05, 1.06, 2019 1st-2nd, Marlon Mack, and oh...Tyreek.
